As part of the Victorian Government's commitment to making Victoria the Education State, Emerald Secondary College has been allocated $8.77 million in the 2023 State Budget. This funding will enable us to continue upgrading our facilities, ensuring that our students have access to the best possible resources and learning environments.
At Emerald Secondary College, we go beyond providing an excellent education. We also focus on offering exciting experiences and clubs, allowing students to explore their passions and develop new skills outside of the classroom.
We believe in embracing the needs of each learner as a unique individual. Our personalized approach to learning is reflected in our core-based subjects, which include English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, the Arts, and Languages, among others. By recognizing the diversity of our student body, we create an inclusive community that celebrates differences in culture, gender, and religion. We kindly ask everyone to respect one another, including themselves.
Education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world, and at Emerald Secondary College, we strive to empower our students with the knowledge and skills they need to make a positive impact on society.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge that our school is located on the traditional land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. As a school, we are committed to embracing and respecting diversity in all its forms.

"Teachers care more about hoodies than children getting abused (miss chuu should get a raise I love miss chuu)"
"This school has so many flaws from top to bottom. The teachers here do not care about the mental health of students, if not at all and do not maintain a proper learning environment. The school is riddled with rude people and the school doesn't know how deal with bullying effectively. There is a clear lack of communication between students and staff, causing the school to be a miserable place to be. The uniform here is terrible and made very poorly. They do not care whatsoever about the state of the school, just the uniform. I have a friend of mine who got a uniform violation because he didn't have fully black shoes. Some people cannot afford proper school shoes and they do not take that into consideration. Most parts of the school are terribly maintained (G block and the B block bathrooms are the worst places in the school) and only pay attention to the more nicer and cleaner parts of the school. Do not send your kids here unless you want them to get a detention for wearing bright coloured socks and being constantly bullied with no help from the school."
"literally the worst school DONT send ur kids here this school needs to shut down"
"this school is not good for your children, principals caring more about uniforms then education. i want a education, i dont want to learn about banter. no one cares about our mental health, and this school ruins it. the only nice ladies is the office ladies and mr k, james."
"As a previous student at ESC (during 2018-2019, changed schools now) I say to avoid this facility at all costs, teacher turnover is horrific and the continuity of learning is nonexistent because of so many teacher absences. Replacement teachers are given no information regarding the class they are to teach. Bullying happens on a daily basis and teachers do nothing, for example, there was a group of people wrestling in the locker bay a few weeks ago and the teachers heading to class just ducked down and kept walking, other students had to break up the fight. Teachers also don’t communicate, between parents, students or even other staff members, at the beginning of the year I was absent for a few weeks due to being in hospital, my Mum emailed all my teachers to get work for me while I was sick and didn’t get a single reply. The conditions of the classrooms are disgusting, chewed gum stuck underneath the tables and chairs, cracks in the walls filled with rubbish, felt display boards that have ripped of the wall and are all mouldy underneath. Because the student teacher respect level is so low it’s impossible to learn anything properly because teachers are always yelling at disrespectful students. The school is littered with rubbish in every crevice and they do nothing about it. There’s holes in the ceilings of most classrooms, where ceiling tiles have fallen or things have been thrown. Windows get smashed regularly. Resources are also scarce, the art room has pencil sets that are sharpened down to nothing, batteries used for electrical experiments in science expired before I was born, we used razors instead of scalpels for dissection experiment in science. Walls in the hallways and classrooms were painted by students for a ‘project’, then students had to have classes in the freshly painted classrooms that are in no way ventilated because all the window latches are broken. The school fundraises for every charity under the sun except the school, which is honestly a charity itself. I could keep going but honestly just don’t, don’t even consider it as an option.
