St Luke’s Primary School 25 Stokes Road, Wantirna, Victoria 3152
About the Business
St Luke’s Primary School, located at 25 Stokes Road in Wantirna, Australia, is an esteemed establishment and point of interest in the education sector. As a primary school, we cater to the educational needs of young learners, offering them a nurturing and inclusive environment to thrive in.
At St Luke’s, we pride ourselves on being a vibrant and diverse community that welcomes families from all backgrounds. Whether you are already a part of our school community or considering enrolling your child at St Luke’s, we extend a warm welcome to you. We believe in partnering with families to provide a holistic educational journey for every child.
Our school vision, inspired by John 10:10 - "I have come that you may have life and have it to the full," guides our philosophy and commitment to delivering a comprehensive educational experience. We hold our strong links with the Parish community and our Catholic identity in high regard. Students at St Luke’s have numerous opportunities to deepen their faith through meaningful religious education, engagement in social justice activities, and active participation in our Mini Vinnies program. The values of respect, responsibility, resilience, empathy, and integrity permeate our school culture, fostering the full development of each child's spiritual, physical, cognitive, emotional, and social learning.
We believe that children thrive when they feel safe, secure, and happy. To support the holistic development of our students, we prioritize building positive and productive relationships between students, families, staff members, and the wider community. Our high-quality educational programs equip our students with the skills they need to become successful lifelong learners and active citizens. This is made possible by our dedicated, passionate, and generous-hearted staff members who go above and beyond to ensure the best possible education for our students.
St Luke’s Primary School is an inclusive institution that welcomes enrolment from Catholic students as well as students from other faith traditions whose families support the values of a Catholic education. Our Prep enrolments are open to all students who turn 5 years old by 30th April of the year they begin school.
To ensure a smooth transition for our new Prep students, we offer a comprehensive transition program. This program includes engaging and fun activities that build confidence and friendships with teachers and older buddies. We also provide opportunities for our Prep teachers to visit kindergartens and interact with students in a familiar and comfortable environment. Additionally, we organize transition afternoons where children can get to know their teachers and experience different aspects of our curriculum. Parent information sessions are held during these transition afternoons to provide parents with valuable insights into the school's operations and curriculum.
At St Luke’s, we believe in fostering a strong partnership between parents and the school. Therefore, we hold a parent information evening in late November to ensure that parents are well-informed and prepared for the upcoming school year. This evening serves as an opportunity for parents to engage with us and ensure their children are ready to embark on their educational journey at St Luke’s.
We are proud to be governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS), an organization that operates and governs Catholic schools in the Archdiocese. MACS enables us to continue the mission of Catholic education, equipping our young people with the knowledge, skills, and hope to live meaningful lives and make a positive impact on the world around them. School Advisory Councils have been established to facilitate collaboration between the wider school community and school leaders, ensuring greater consistency in policies and procedures.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the Wurundjeri and Bunurong People, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our School resides. We honor Wurundjeri Elders, both past and present, as well as future generations, and extend our gratitude for their connection to the land.
Thank you for considering St Luke’s Primary School for your child's education. We take great pride in the work we do and the opportunities we provide for our students. "My children's second home! Fabulous principal, caring and supporting teachers and education support staff and a special mention to our dear Mrs Plimmer, who manages the school brilliantly. My little ones feel loved and supported in their learning and they are proud to be part of such a fantastic and loving community."
"I have been at this school for the past 11 years. Absolutely love it. The teachers are all amazing. The new principle Kathryn Murphy has settled in her new role fantastically. I have nothing but great experiences. I will be very sad to leave at the end of our final year."
"Our daughter transferred here at the start of term 2 2020 just before the lockdown. The staff and Principle Kathryn Murphy made the transition smooth and stress free. Our daughter has settled in seamlessly and we haven't looked back. Even through lockdown, the support from the teachers and Monique who runs the admin side of things was fantastic. The school has a unique feeling of togetherness that her previous school lacked completely. Kids are supported and genuinely cared for by the teachers and it's clear they love their jobs. The new Principle Kathryn Murphy is fantastic and it's apparent she's out to build on what's already a fantastic reputation. I can only see this school getting better and better."
"I have two children at St Luke's. The school is unique for its sense of community, within the school and also in connecting with the local state schools. For the kids, it is like having a second family. Academically, the school is agile in curriculum, always looking for better ways to improve learning outcomes for students. It is a truly wonderful school."
"We transferred our kids to St Luke's in 2015 and haven't looked back! Staff have always been supportive and provided a nurturing environment for our children who have absolutely blossomed under their care. The general vibe that we've experienced from the students, the teaching and supportive staff, the Parents and Friends committee and all the other families at school has been one of faith, love and support. I will continue to recommend that prospective parents come down and experience the difference that is St Luke's!"
