Welcome to the Northern School for Autism, a centre of excellence located in Reservoir, Australia. Our institution is dedicated to supporting students in developing their personal and educational potential, empowering them to become valued contributors to family and community life.

As the principal of Northern School for Autism, I am incredibly proud of our institution. We boast exceptional facilities and a team of dedicated teachers, allied health staff, and education support staff who are committed to ensuring the success of our students. With a staff of 190 members, we provide autism-specific educational programs for 425 students between the ages of 5 and 18 across our two campuses.

Our Reservoir Campus offers state-of-the-art facilities for our Early and Middle Years' students. For our Later Years' students, we have the refurbished Lalor Campus conveniently located near transportation, community services, and shopping precincts.

In 2015, we opened a satellite program at Norris Bank Primary School. To be eligible for this program, students must be enrolled at Northern School for Autism and complete their first year of education at our Reservoir Campus.

At Northern School for Autism, we have implemented the TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communications Handicapped Children) approach, which is an evidence-based program suitable for individuals of all ages and skill levels with autism spectrum disorders. This approach allows our teachers to build upon each student's strengths and skills, promoting their overall development. In line with this approach, we have developed a set of expected teaching and learning protocols to ensure consistency throughout the school.

We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people, the Wurundjeri Willum Clan, and Taungurung People as the Traditional Owners of the land on which our school stands. We recognize and respect their ongoing connection to the land, waters, and culture. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future.
