We are thrilled to introduce our new principal, Mr. Matt Jackson, who brings extensive experience and skills to lead our school towards greater heights of academic excellence and student success. With Mr. Jackson at the helm, we are confident in our ability to provide the best possible education for our students.

At Somerville Rise Primary School, we believe in the power of communication and technology. We have implemented Compass as our main form of communication with parents and guardians, with the goal of becoming completely paperless by the end of 2023. This allows us to stay connected and informed, ensuring a seamless partnership between home and school.

As we strive for academic excellence, we are excited to announce that NAPLAN will be held between the 15th and 27th of March for all students in Years 3 and 5. NAPLAN provides valuable insights into our school's achievements in important areas such as reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and numeracy.

In addition to our academic pursuits, we are dedicated to the social and emotional development of our students. This year, we are embarking on a whole school journey to learn about the Berry Street Educational Model, which will enhance our Social and Emotional Learning curriculum.

We are also proud to showcase our exciting new playground design, providing a safe and enjoyable space for our students to learn and play.

As we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, we pay our respects to Elders, past and present, and extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We are committed to taking care of the land and preserving the sacred lands and waterways of our ancestors, including the precious Yumarrala Wetlands of Somerville.
