Welcome to the St. Albans School of Music, located in the heart of Saint Albans on Lister Street. Established in the 1970s, our institution has been providing quality music education to students of all ages for over four decades. In today's fast-paced world, where time is precious, learning an instrument can be a rewarding way to spend your leisure time.

At the St. Albans School of Music, we understand the academic pressures that students face. Our experienced teachers are committed to tailoring lessons that do not interfere with school work, but instead enhance it. We take pride in the numerous past and present students who have found joy in playing their instruments for their own leisure, as well as those who have gone on to become professional musicians and music teachers.

Our school offers a variety of instrument classes, including Piano/Keyboard, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, Singing, and vocal Musical Theater Training, and Drums. Lessons are conducted on a one-to-one basis, although small groups can be organized upon enrollment at the same time. We believe in flexibility and strive to incorporate students' interests into the lesson content.

While it is important to master the basics, our teachers encourage students to express their preferences early on, allowing for a more personalized learning experience. For those interested in exam assessments, we cater to that as well. However, we believe in mixing exam pieces with non-exam music to create a diverse repertoire.

In addition to our instrumental classes, we also offer Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Singing & Vocal Musical Theater Training, and Drums!

We understand that having access to an instrument is crucial for practice. To accommodate this, we offer instrument rental for guitar, keyboard, and violin. For a nominal fee of $40 for 3 months, with a security deposit, students can try out an instrument before committing to a purchase. If the student decides to continue, the instrument can be purchased for the retail value, minus the rental charge. We also ensure that the guitar and violin are the correct size for the student, as comfort and quality are essential for a positive learning experience.
