"Careless repairs cost me 2 tyres prematurely... 911 automotive did a rego service a few months back. I usually go to a mechanic in Blacktown that my family has known for years, but I left the rego service too late and couldn't book in with him in time. I had recently moved to the area and was hoping 911 could be my new go-to for basic servicing closer to home. Firstly the basic service cost was quite expensive compared to other independent mechanics and even franchise mechanics I've been to over the years. Worst of all was their botched larger repairs. They identified that some front suspension components were worn and needed to be replaced to pass rego - fair enough. They did the job, but didn't do a wheel alignment (or tell me I should get one done elsewhere) after replacing the suspension parts. Fast forward to now, I took my car into my usual mechanic after it threw a check engine light. He fixed the issue (unrelated to 911's work), but while doing a general service he identified that the front tyres (which I had replaced about a month before taking it to 911) had COMPLETELY worn out on the inside edge. He checked the wheel alignment and found it was completely off, causing the tyres to wear out rapidly. He replaced the tyres and fixed the alignment himself. He was pretty disappointed by the carelessness of these guys - as he put it, any mechanic should know to check and readjust the wheel alignment after doing any suspension work. Millimeters of misalignment can make a huge difference, but these things were way out, even to the naked eye. I did end up taking the issue to 911. After a bit of back and forth they eventually agreed to partially compensate me the cost of the tyres, but it took a lot of effort to convince them, even when I had a list of receipts and the old tyre as evidence. Honestly, I wouldn't trust these guys to do anything on my car. The place is usually full of cars getting serviced - I'm not sure if I would put it down to ignorance or carelessness, but either way it's very poor form on their part. I was lucky my car had another unrelated issue, otherwise I would have been unaware of the tyre wear issue, and could have run into trouble on a wet road. Steer clear"
