About the Business
Welcome to Wallan Primary School! Located at 42-48 Queen Street in Wallan, Australia, our institution is a point of interest and a primary school that caters to students from Foundation to Year 6. At Wallan Primary School, we strive to provide a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
One of the highlights at our school is our annual Book Week celebration, where students from Year 3 to Year 6 participate in visual storytelling sessions, while Foundation, Year 1, and Year 2 students engage in drawing a story sessions. We also have a special Book Week Dress Up Day on Monday 28th August, where students can showcase their favorite literary characters.
We are proud to offer our students a range of exciting programs. Our Outdoor Education Sessions, which have recently been introduced for Foundation and Year 1 students, build upon the success of our "Bush Kinder" program in Preschool. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Kitchen/Garden program, available for the first time to Year 3-6 students in 2023.
At Wallan Primary School, we value our students' well-being and engagement. That's why we have implemented a new system based on our values, with our attendance mascot 'Patch' leading the way. Students have the opportunity to claim rewards from Patch's Pantry, and the response has been overwhelming. Check out our website to see how many people attended the opening!
Our dedicated and passionate teachers go above and beyond to create a vibrant learning environment. After school, they engage in planning, meetings, and professional learning, but they also make time for some fun. Recently, they enjoyed creating marble paper in the art room, showcasing their creativity and fostering a positive school culture.
We take great pride in our student leadership program, which empowers our students to take on leadership roles and make a positive impact in our school community. Our Hume house captains recently received the 2023 School Cross Country shield, a testament to their dedication and teamwork. In our Digi Tech program, students have created images of our staff, challenging others to guess their identities based on clues.
We are delighted to welcome Whittlesea Music to our school, offering families the option to book private or group music lessons with experienced tutors. This partnership allows our students to explore their musical talents during the school day.
At Wallan Primary School, we also honor important events and traditions. We recently held an ANZAC service, attended by our students and student leaders, as well as many families from our community. Our school captains even wrote and recited a heartfelt poem during the service, showcasing their creativity and respect for history. We encourage you to visit our Facebook page to watch their inspiring performance.
Reading is highly valued at Wallan Primary School, and we encourage parents to read with their children at home. Reading together not only enhances literacy skills but also fosters critical thinking and imagination. Take the time to ask your child questions about the book to further engage their understanding.
We are thrilled to have Big Childcare join us in Term 4 to run our Before and After School Program, providing a safe and enriching environment for our students. Additionally, we have received a grant to support the introduction of vacation care, ensuring that our students have access to quality care during school breaks.
At Wallan Primary School, we are committed to providing an exceptional education and fostering a supportive community. We invite you to explore our website and discover the many opportunities and experiences that await your child at our institution.
