Welcome to the Melbourne Clinical School at The University of Notre Dame. Located in Werribee, just a short distance from Melbourne CBD, our school offers a unique and exceptional learning environment for medical students. Co-located with the Mercy Hospital Werribee, our students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and a diverse range of clinical experiences.

Led by Professor Moyez Jiwa, a renowned clinician and Professor of Health Innovation, our academic team is dedicated to delivering excellence in clinical training. We believe in nurturing our students to become reflective and evidence-based practitioners, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the healthcare field.

At the Melbourne Clinical School, we have a strong focus on research, particularly in developing and evaluating innovations to reduce the burden of chronic and complex conditions in the community. Our purpose-built facilities include a large lecture theatre, tutorial rooms, a library, clinical skills simulation area, laboratories, clinical suites, a student common room, and an outdoor function facility. These facilities provide an ideal learning environment for our students to thrive and excel.

Our medical students attend the Melbourne Clinical School during their third and final years of the postgraduate MBBS course. They undergo rotations in various specialties including medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, emergency, and rural medicine. Our students have the opportunity to train at renowned hospitals such as Werribee Mercy, St. Vincent’s, St. George’s, Western Health at Sunshine, Footscray and Williamstown, Cabrini, and Calvary Health Care (Bethlehem).

Since our first graduates in 2011, our alumni have gone on to establish successful careers, particularly in Victoria and New South Wales. Our strong network and reputation in the medical community provide our graduates with excellent opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
