As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have designed the school to be environmentally friendly and easy to manage. Our aim is to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and development for all students.
Adjacent to our school, you will find Nganboo Borron School, further enhancing the educational opportunities available to the local community. In addition, Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College, opening in 2024, will initially welcome Year 7 students and gradually expand to accommodate students from higher year levels. This collaborative effort within the educational community will ensure a seamless transition for students as they progress through their academic journey.
The name Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College was chosen after extensive community consultation, reflecting its meaning in the Wadawurrung language - "steps to knowledge." We are proud to have Bradley Moyle as our principal, a seasoned education leader with over 20 years of experience. Brad's passion for equipping students with the skills they need to become future leaders and active community members will undoubtedly shape the educational experience at Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College.
Throughout the planning and design process, we have actively engaged with the local Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation to ensure that our school's design respects and reflects the cultural heritage of the land. This collaborative effort ensures that our institution is not only a place of education but also a space that celebrates diversity and inclusivity.
Our school's layout, as depicted in the plan, showcases the various buildings and facilities that will be open from Term 1, 2024. Students will have access to state-of-the-art learning spaces, as well as outdoor play areas located near the design, arts, technology, and science building. Additionally, future stages of development, marked in grey, are subject to further funding and will enhance our facilities even further.
As you explore our webpage, you will find valuable information about our institution, including enrollment details and the 2024 school zones.
