About the Business
Welcome to Selandra Rise Family and Children's Centre, located at 45 Haflinger Avenue, Clyde North, Australia. Our institution is a point of interest and a school that aims to provide comprehensive support and care for families and children in our community.
At Selandra Rise Family and Children's Centre, we understand the importance of managing workforce pressures in the healthcare sector. With the recruitment of additional staff, we have been able to expand our services. Starting from Monday, 5th June, we are pleased to announce that Maternal and Child Health appointments will be available for children up to 18 months of age, as well as families with additional needs.
If you have any concerns about your child's health or development, we encourage you to speak to one of our senior nurses by calling the Central Booking Number 9705 5590. Our dedicated team is here to support at-risk children of any age and provide guidance to parents.
We are actively working with the Victorian Department of Health, Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), and Safer Care Victoria to address workforce issues and restore our services to full capacity as soon as possible.
Council is committed to supporting all families and parents in our community. We offer free services such as the Maternal and Child Health Team, which provides in-home support for parents referred by a MCH nurse, GP, or other health professionals. Our Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Service is a free program that offers information and child health, wellbeing, and developmental checks from birth to 6 years of age.
MCH nurses are dedicated to providing inclusive care and can work with families using interpreters if needed. This service is free, and interpreters can be arranged upon request.
The Victorian Department of Health recommends 10 'Key Age and Stage' visits, and our MCH nurses will guide you through these appointments. For your first appointment, a MCH nurse will visit you in your home, and subsequent visits can be scheduled at our MCH centre. We will send you SMS reminders for each appointment to ensure you don't miss them.
During each nurse appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and ask questions about your child's health and your parenting experience. Our nurses will conduct thorough checks on your child's health, growth, and development, including hearing, vision, speech, and motor skills.
We understand that being a first-time parent can be overwhelming, which is why we invite all first-time parents to join our group sessions. These sessions provide a supportive environment where you can connect with other first-time parents in Casey. Various parenting topics are discussed over four weeks, and both face-to-face and online options are available.
For families facing significant early parenting difficulties, our Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Service (EMCH) provides in-home support. Referrals for this program can be made by hospitals, GPs, or local MCH nurses. The child must be aged 3 years or younger to be eligible for this program.
In addition to our group sessions, we offer information sessions on introducing solid foods for babies aged 4 months to 1 year old. These sessions can be attended online through Microsoft Teams.
For families requiring additional support, we offer individual home visits with a Sleep Consultant. Additionally, the 24-hour Maternal and Child Health Line is available at 13 22 29 for sleep and settling support.
We have multiple locations for face-to-face appointments spread throughout the City of Casey. For more information on these locations, please call our Central Booking Number (9705 5590) or speak with a lactation consultant.
At Selandra Rise Family and Children's Centre, we are dedicated to providing the information and support you need. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We value and respect the rich culture of Casey's Aboriginal communities and acknowledge them as Australia's first peoples and the traditional owners of the land we work and live on.

Reviews
"Not impressed with the nurse we seen she told us that our 2 month old had a slight flat head but no instructions on how to prevent it getting any worse. Plus got pushed out the door in 10 mins with no relevant information so definitely not my first choice"
"The maternal health nurse was lovely very informative and a nice person. Much better service than the hunt club."
