About the Business
Welcome to Something for Jess - SFJ Cafe & Coffee, located at 27 Abercrombie Street in Chippendale, Australia. As a cafe, establishment, food point of interest, and store, we are proud to offer a unique experience to our valued customers.
Something for Jess was launched at the start of COVID, and we are grateful for the overwhelming support from our community. In response to popular demand, we have decided to keep our grocery store, allowing you to bring home the delicious flavors that make our food so special. By leveraging our established network of quality suppliers, we are able to provide you with the tastiest supplies for your culinary creations.
We believe that a cafe has the power to bring like-minded individuals together and create positive change in the local community. That's why we strive to be the change we want to see in the world. We are committed to sourcing all of our produce locally and seasonally, supporting our farmers and reducing our carbon footprint.
At Something for Jess, we are also passionate about sustainability. Since September 2020, we have been using Recycle Me take-away cups, which are 100% recyclable. This small change has helped us save approximately 2000 cups per month from ending up in landfill.
In addition to our dedication to the environment, we also support Sydney artists. Our SFJ Art Gallery showcases the talent of local creatives, with exhibitions changing every six weeks. We also celebrate Sydney Music Fridays, playing music exclusively from local artists to support our sonic talent. You can even check out our curated playlist on Spotify.
Giving back to the community is a core value at Something for Jess. We donate 10% of all art proceeds to Amnesty International, helping those less fortunate than us. We also strive to bridge the gap between dietary preferences, offering options for meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans. 60% of our menu is vegan, but we believe that everyone deserves good food and ethical choices. Who knows, you might just discover a new love for vegan cuisine!
As a way to express our gratitude to our regular customers, we organize the annual Chippendale Christmas Market. This event not only thanks our loyal patrons but also gives a platform to other Sydney creatives who are making a difference through their work.
At Something for Jess, we change our menu monthly to ensure a fresh and exciting dining experience. We prioritize sourcing our produce locally whenever possible, with a focus on quality and seasonality. From our humble kitchen, we create delicious coffee, mouthwatering food, and unforgettable memories filled with laughter.
We take immense pride in our community, and that's why we donate to charity and encourage emerging artists to share their creativity with the world.
Join us at Something for Jess - SFJ Cafe & Coffee for a truly unique and fulfilling experience. Together, we can make a difference and create a better world, one cup of coffee and one delicious meal at a time.

Reviews
"Pretty good brunch spot with the standard menu items. Reasonably priced too!"
"This is a small, local restaurant. Support them. The service was good, and the staff were friendly. The food was good portion sizes. The wrap was delicious; however, the juice from the contents made it very soggy. We would go back, but maybe for just coffee and pastries."
"Coffee is alright, and food is ok. I prefer the smashed avo and the corn fritters but not the Mexican bowl. Their service is excellent, and the atmosphere is great!"
"A wonderful cafe, easily one of the best meals we had in our brief stay in Sydney! The staff are really friendly, and the ambience is amazing, warm and cosy. We had the corn fritter and big breakfast, both were great, well seasoned and very tasty. They seem to have great vegetarian options as well. I also had a sticky chai, which was great and a generous portion! Couldn't recommend this place enough :)"
