Welcome to Altona Gate Kindergarten, located at 80 Walker Close in Altona North, Australia. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we have been empowering Melbourne's children and young people since 1883.

We are excited to announce that from 2023, the Victorian Government is making kindergarten programs free for three and four-year-old children, saving families up to $2,500 per year. This initiative is part of the government's Best Start, Best Life reform, ensuring that all Victorian children have the best start in life.

Please note that your child can only be funded for a kindergarten place at one service at a time and for one year, unless they are assessed as eligible for a second funded year by their kindergarten teacher.

At Altona Gate Kindergarten, we value healthy eating habits and encourage children to bring along a labeled water bottle, healthy snack, and lunch each day. Meal times are an opportunity for children to come together, share stories, and learn from their day.

Please be aware that attendance at three-year-old kindergarten does not guarantee a place in four-year-old kindergarten. Families will need to follow the application process per Hobson Bay City Council's enrolment policy.
