Its unique boutique setting provides an intimate and cosy backdrop for an unforgettable experience of music and dining. The venue has a knack for hosting top-notch music shows that are nothing short of mesmerising. Extra spice sometimes appears in the form of your host Yaron Hallis performing on-stage too... WOW! An accomplished singer and guitarist (among other things) Yaron is a stellar host and QIRKZ is a sensory indulgence that needs to be experienced to really appreciate. Catch a short glimpse of Yaron performing with Nadya Golski on the attached video. Both are singing up a storm. Phone video will not do these two justice, I was there and I was completely swept away. How many venues can you recollect where the host can get up on stage and really perform? And not just perform but blow you away. It is an auditory feast which is complemented perfectly by QIRKZ's superb dining (and I am a vege). As for the ambiance, it's as if the walls are infused with the joy and energy of countless melodies and memories. A night at QIRKZ is not just about music & food, it's about the beautiful fusion of the two in a setting that leaves you yearning for more. A truly standout venue in the Hunter Valley. "Aren't we so very lucky to live in the Hunter? We are brimming with restaurants, wineries, cafes and entertainment. Sure there are great places to go outside of "The Valley" though I think it is safe to say that here, we have more than our fair share. I make a point of enjoying many of these places. Recently, I discovered "Qirkz" in Abermain. It is a truly exceptional place that is fast becoming my regular haunt. Qirkz has effectively redefined my expectations of how good the Hunter can be. My radar was always on the lookout for somewhere... different. A place where I could go for an expertly crafted coffee (yes guilty), a drink or perhaps a delicious treat. This place I'd hoped for, until now, was a unicorn. Qirkz is that Unicorn and it is a real game changer in the Valley. The food is outstanding, as is their coffee. That's not where it ends. They have a brilliant bar that has works of art from floor to ceiling everywhere you look. For the sweet tooth, they boast a local Hunter Gelato that you absolutely need to try. To top it all off, Qirkz offers a cosy, intimate space for live music, together with fine dining too. Of course, to enhance your night, there's a wide selection of beers, local wines, and inventive cocktails to entice you. The music venue reminds me of my early days in underground music places like Soup Plus. Qirkz though, takes this up to another level. It's refined, chic & stylish. My words don't do it justice. If you are a little "quirky" yourself, you will be doing yourself a grave injustice not to visit Qirkz. The staff are genuinely warm & attentive and will help guarantee that you have an unforgettable experience from the moment you walk in. You will be telling your friends and boasting with a few selfies across the interwebs. The décor too, you'll just have to see it to believe it. I can't believe all this (and more) are waiting in Abermain at the old historic Hotel Denman, and what a transformation! Qirkz is a hidden gem that is a must-visit for all Hunter locals, how fortunate WE are! If you are visiting the region, put Qirkz on your itinerary, just do it. To visit the Hunter Valley and miss this rising star... well, there will be tears later. How can I sum up... If you're looking for a unique dining and entertainment experience that combines great food, a mesmerizing atmosphere, stellar service and unforgettable live performance, Qirkz is an absolute must-visit.
