About the Business
Welcome to Rockbank Kindergarten, a warm and inviting establishment located at Rockbank, Old Leakes Road, 26 in Australia. Formerly known as TRY Australia, we are now Sparkways! Find out more about this transition and how it may affect you on our website.
Since 1883, we have been empowering and supporting Melbourne's children and young people to thrive. At Rockbank Kindergarten, we believe in creating meaningful connections and inspiring Victoria's children and young people to reach their full potential.
We take pride in providing a nurturing environment where your children can flourish. One parent shared, "At Rockbank Kinder, we have a daughter in the four-year-old group and a son in the three-year-old group. Both absolutely love going to kinder. The warm and inviting atmosphere has allowed both our children to thrive and have a real sense of belonging."
We understand the importance of play in a child's development. It is through play that young children can experiment, express their creativity, and try new ideas without fear of failure. Our dedicated educators encourage children to challenge themselves, ask questions, and extend their ideas while providing social and emotional support.
At Rockbank Kindergarten, our curriculum is based on the interests, needs, and wishes of the children. We plan intentional teaching experiences to develop specific skills and knowledge. Our staff diligently record observations and reflect on the program to assist in future curriculum planning.
We value and respect each child's cultural and religious background, aiming to educate children about cultural differences through play-based curriculum. Our curriculum aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Standards.
As part of our small rural community, we strive to form bonds with local schools and community groups. We aim to ensure a smooth transition for children from kindergarten to school and encourage families to attend our annual open night and orientation day.
Our educators stay professionally active and up to date with contemporary practices in Early Childhood Education. Our bachelor-trained staff are registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and participate in ongoing professional development.
We strongly encourage family involvement in our kindergarten. Parents are invited to attend special events, join our fundraising group, and assist in session time activities. We also welcome parents to share their special skills or hobbies with the group.
At Rockbank Kindergarten, we continuously work towards improving our center and maintaining high-quality standards. We value parents' input in setting learning goals for their child and planning special events and incursions to make their time at kindergarten positive and meaningful.
Our kindergarten provides a comprehensive early education that nurtures each child's physical, mental, and spiritual needs in a caring environment. We offer Red Group sessions on Wednesday and Friday, and Blue Group sessions on Tuesday and Thursday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
We are excited to share that the Victorian Government provides funding to support children's access to a high-quality kindergarten program in the two years before they start school. Starting from 2023, kindergarten programs will be free for three and four-year-old children, saving families up to $2,500 per year. This initiative is part of the Victorian Government's Best Start, Best Life reform.
At Rockbank Kindergarten, we understand that every child is unique and will meet milestones at different times. Toilet training is not a requirement for attending kindergarten. If your child begins to show an interest in using the toilet, please speak with our educators, and we will work with you and provide assistance along the way.
As a sun-safe organization, we provide child-friendly sunscreen. However, if your child has sensitive skin, you are welcome to provide your preferred brand.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, as well as the Elders past and present. We also celebrate diversity and value the lived experience of people from every ethnicity, faith, age, disability, culture, language, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
Join us at Rockbank Kindergarten, where we create a positive and meaningful early education experience for your child. Contact us today to learn more or schedule a visit.
