While your home and contents insurance policy may offer some coverage for your boat, it typically only applies when the boat is stored at your home location. For example, Allianz's home contents insurance policy covers non-motorized watercraft less than 3 meters in length, but not when it's being used. With Club Marine boat insurance, you will have comprehensive coverage for your boat both when it's stored and when you're out on the water.

In the unfortunate event of a claim, Club Marine will reimburse the reasonable cost of replacing the damaged item to its pre-loss condition. If your ten-year-old motor needs replacement, we will cover the cost of a replacement motor. However, if you choose to replace it with a brand new motor, you may be required to contribute the difference in cost. We will always inform you of any contributions applicable before proceeding with the replacement, settlement, or repairs.

To help reduce your insurance premium, we offer the option of adding lay-up months. Each month you nominate for lay-up reduces your premium by 5%. Lay-up refers to the months when you're not using your boat, such as during winter, and it's stored in an enclosed garage, shed, or behind walls, gates, or fences. Even during lay-up, your boat is covered for fire, theft, and storm damage at the storage location. It also covers your boat while it's being moved to/from a dealer or service center for regular maintenance.

When it comes to determining the payout amount for a claim, we offer two options: Market Value and Agreed Value. With Market Value, the payout may be less than the amount shown on the schedule, as it is dependent on the actual value of the boat at the time of the loss. Agreed Value, on the other hand, allows you to agree upon a specific payout amount with Club Marine, although you may need to provide evidence to support your proposed value.
