We value family time and understand the importance of holidays. That's why we are closed on public holidays and have a Christmas shutdown period of approximately two weeks, during which we do not charge fees. Additionally, we do not charge administration fees or deposits, making our services accessible to all.

Before your child starts at our centre, we encourage them to participate in orientation sessions. These sessions allow your child to familiarize themselves with their new learning environment, ensuring a smooth transition.

Our team facilitates educational experiences using the learning outcomes within the framework. We prioritize the development of lifelong skills, knowledge, and cultural understanding. Through group activities, play-based learning, music and movement, art and craft, and outdoor playtime, we create a well-rounded educational experience.

For children transitioning to school, our program focuses on developing their sense of identity and preparing them for the emotional and cognitive demands of the school environment and beyond.

We prioritize the safety and well-being of our children, which is why we are accredited for sun smart practices. We monitor UV alerts, provide adequate shade in the outdoor environment, and ensure children have sunscreen applied. We kindly request parents to provide their child with a broad-brimmed or legionnaire hat and clothing that covers the shoulders.

Families are responsible for providing their own nappies and sleep sheets for their children. We do provide nappy wipes, but parents can also provide their preferred brand if desired. Additionally, we offer support for toilet training, working with families and children at their own pace to achieve this important milestone.

Our centre has an on-site cook who prepares fresh meals each day following the principles of Munch and Move, a program by NSW Health. These meals include morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, ensuring children receive nutritious and delicious food.

To keep parents informed and involved in their child's progress, we utilize the Kinderm8 program. This platform provides newsfeeds and daily journals, allowing parents to see their child's engagement in our educational program, which aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework.

At Ellerman Long Day Care Centre, we celebrate the diversity of our community by acknowledging and participating in various cultural events. From Chinese New Year to Diwali, NAIDOC week to community events like "Tree Day" and "National Science Week," we embrace and honor different traditions. We also encourage families to share any events they wish for us to celebrate.
