"Nonplussed????? Had an appointment for 12:15. Turned up - no one to receive. Eventually stumbled into an office. Knew I was coming. " Leave car for 2 - 3 weeks, we'll see"??? " For a 2 - 3 hour job WHY?" Taken, at last to an assessor - "have to order- could take 2 - 3 weeks" "Need car - have disability - only means of transport" "Oh? In that case, take home - we'll ring when part is ready and painted, probably 2 - 3 weeks"! EFFICIENT!! !????? Two to three weeks, hmn? .......................................... They rang nearly two weeks later ... "Not going to fix your car as our Parts Providor unable to locate 'any parts for Smart Cars, so cannot supply necessary part {Rear left mudguard} ???" Obviously the S.M.A.R.T. of Capital S.M.A.R.T. DOES NOT APPLY TO Smart Cars! AAMI made a dodgy selection - I'm still awaiting their choice of ANOTHER repairer. Long wait, still? On the initial question - Upon presenting at Capital S.M.A.R.T., drove to factory door - very large factory, full of cars, NOT A WORKMAN PANEL BEATER in sight NOR ANY WORK STATION OR BENCHES to be spied. Strangest Mechanical Repair shop / factory I've ever seen, nor any workers, working. Quite suspicious, actually."
"Nothing to fault. Pickup of the vehicle was quick and easy. Workmanship looked well completed with nothing out of ordinary. Paint match was flawless. So nothing to fault"
"The lady on the phone was SO rude, absolutely useless and unprofessional. Called to see if my car would be ready to be picked up tomorrow (they date they advised) only to be given attitude from the lady straight away saying "it's not tomorrow, I can't tell you that, you'll find out tomorrow" "we have over 100 cars". If you are unable to keep track of what the status is of your cars, don't be responsible for that many cars. If your customers ask you a polite question, don't be so rude answering. Also it's a basic question, you can't expect everyone to alter their schedules last minute because your company is DISORGANISED."
"Panel repair via insurance. Repair was promised to be finished on Friday, then "Tuesday the latest", turned out to be Wednesday. Panels were misaligned and the car had an airbag alert when I got it. Both fixed when I pointed it out though. Somehow got my key fob all dirty too. Good thing it had a cover."
"My car went here for what should have been a simple repair (car was rear-ended). Their first attempt, left the new panel rounded with a half a centimetre gap between panels and a rounded and bulging wheel arch, which they assured me looked fine. Upon pointing it out, they agreed it was poorly done. When it went back to fix this (which they did an okay job at), they managed to take of paint in a number of spots. They had assured me the exhaust (located in centre of car and took brunt of impact) was also okay and had given me the keys, shown me to my car and said it was all sorted. When I asked for this in writing to say it had been assessed, they changed their tune and said it would need to be replaced. They only stated this (and then wrote it on the quote in texta) when I asked for written advice saying it’d been assessed. They clearly had no intent on resolving this. When the car went in for the 3rd time, they had repaired some of the paint, some of which looked great. However, they also had a huge excess of paint that now looks like a panel has a pipe cleaner covered in paint running along an edge. They also only fixed half the damage they’d caused the visit prior, and hadn’t fixed the same damage they’d done on the other site. What made it even worse, was somehow they’ve got excess paint on the driver’s side door, which almost looks like a thumb print. They offered me to bring it back for a fourth time to try my luck again. This place has zero quality control. Their ethics are non-existent and never have I seen such poor craftsmanship. I can honestly say you should avoid this place. If you have no choice (thanks AAMI!), be sure to take photos of your car before taking it there – as you will no doubt need it from the damage they create whilst fixing your vehicle. I had an uber drive tell me I was the 3rd person he’d taken there in 2 days, who’d had to have the repairs repaired. Also, be sure to get in writing what has been assessed and repaired. It wasn’t until I asked they put in writing that the exhaust had been assessed, but they actually acknowledged that it indeed needed to be replaced. If I hadn’t asked they definitely wouldn’t have volunteered this as they’d already given me the keys and said it was ready to go. Update; the car went to a different panel repairer - the rear panel fitted by Capital SMART had to be replaced due to it being damaged during the install. Total for work done, AFTER capital smart ‘repair’ was $7000. Have also added photos that show how the car had been ‘repaired’ by capital smart. Note the misaligned and rounded panel. No attention to detail or pride in their work whatsoever."
