About the Business
Welcome to Apple Blossoms Early Learning - South Melbourne! Located at the intersection of Dorcas and Clarendon Street, our newest Early Learning Centre is centrally situated in the heart of South Melbourne. As a privately owned establishment, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your children.
At our South Melbourne Early Learning centre, we prioritize the use of organic food prepared by our in-house chef. Our focus is on serving delicious, low-allergenic meals with menus specifically designed to support the growth and development of young bodies and minds. We believe in educating our children about nutrition and food in a fun and engaging way, and activities such as feeding the chooks and collecting eggs are among the favorites at our centre.
In addition to healthy eating, we also encourage a connection to nature and sustainability. Children have the opportunity to grow fresh vegetables in our vege gardens and participate in harvesting the produce when it's ready. Our purpose-built centre incorporates worm farms, compost areas, and fruit trees to further promote an understanding of sustainable practices.
Our natural outdoor classroom features wood structures in their natural state, allowing children to play and learn with natural elements such as mud and water in our mud kitchen. The adventure playground utilizes natural materials, including a water flowing pump and sand play area. The river-like bed and splash areas are designed with appropriate age groups in mind.
Inside our Early Learning centre, we have pot plants and greenery to create a calm and natural indoor environment. We also encourage children to bring in natural materials for learning and play, such as flowers, twigs, pebbles, and gumnuts. These materials are used in imaginative play and to teach concepts such as sorting, counting, and identifying differences in size.
Our curriculum at Apple Blossoms Early Learning is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which is part of the National Quality Framework. Our classrooms in South Melbourne are designed to be age-appropriate and tailored to the needs of each child.
Our team of passionate educators is committed to providing a fun and safe environment for your children. We believe that having fun, playing, and learning are essential for your child's happiness and development. Our educators are chosen for their ability to nurture children through learning, and their qualifications and experience in Early Learning make us stand out in South Melbourne.

"My daughter enjoys and loves going to childcare. It was a difficult transition for first time parents like us but the educators in nursery and toddler and Tina (director) helped us a lot. We love how Tina posts a lot of announcements and reminders to Storypark. The educators are amazing and caring. They are also detailed with the routine reports and the highlight for us is the weekly activity reports. It is just so nice to read and get updated about our daughter's learnings and improvement. We really like this place. The learnings does not just focus on academics but also an incorporation of lots of play and emotions which is imperative to development."
"Apple Blossoms Daycare is truly an amazing place for children. I am so glad I made the decision to move my children from their previous daycare center to Apple Blossoms. Every room, from the nursery to the toddler room and kinder room, is filled with caring and dedicated staff who consistently go above and beyond to ensure the best possible experience for the children. Tina at the front desk deserves a special mention for her exceptional service. Thank you, Apple Blossoms, for all that you do."
"Our 2.5 year old son has attended Apple Blossoms for the last 18 months and we have truly had the best experience. The team work so hard to ensure a wonderful environment for the children to learn, with fun engaging activities to do every single day. Our son loved coming into daycare. It was always a fun and welcoming environment. The communication from Tina the Centre Director is first class (even more impressive given the challenges of operating within the last couple of COVID years). She is warm, caring and leads the team beautifully. She knows every child’s name and takes true interest in their lives. The outside area in both the nursery but particularly the toddler/kinder area is incredible and a real highlight for a city centre. The Apple Blossoms team have been a true extension of our family and the only reason we are departing is due to a change in where we live. I would highly recommend ABs to anyone looking for a caring, welcoming and well run Daycare centre in the South Melbourne region."
"My 4 year old and 14 month old have both been at Apple Blossoms since they were both 8 months old. It has been like a second home to them. We've just moved out of the area and sadly we've had to move the kids to new daycare centers and I am grieving! The kids have received such wonderful, nurturing care during their time at Apple Blossoms. The program for the kinder kids are varied, thoughtful and exciting with a real focus on letting the kids develop their imagination and skills through play. The outdoor area is large and full of activities and trees. The nursery is a warm, calm space for babies to develop and my little one has loved her time there. The Centre provides excellent, regular updates though Storypark and I know a lot of effort goes into preparing the updates. The educators - Laura, Nick, Kirsty, Natsumi, Jasmine, Vanitha, Erin, Carrie, Isyanee - are all wonderful and they all helped both of our babies grow and flourish. Tina, the director, is professional, warm, loving and has instilled her very high standards throughout the Centre. I don't have a bad word to say about Apple Blossoms - and any negative reviews on Google would have been well before Tina's time and the arrival of the current staff, so you can disregard them. As soon as we are back in the area we will be straight back to Apple Blossoms."
"Apple Blossoms has been our saving grace, and truly feels like an extension of our home. Our daughter started just before Melbourne's second lock down eased, and we have never looked back. In fact, we increased her days because she loves it there so much. I'd never thought I'd be a childcare kind of parent, but my baby had other ideas and needed stimulation and engagement that I couldn't provide her, particularly after such a long stint at home due to the pandemic. My child RUNS to the front gate and greets her nursery educators with wide open arms. Every single staff member knows her name even if I have yet to meet them. Educators have even stopped me in the street to say hello to her. I am updated frequently with photos, phone calls and Storypark reflections. I truly believe that the educators adore my child and have taken the time to get to know her, and work hard to provide her with what she needs to learn and grow. This has been particularly evident in the introduction of Key Word Sign in the nursery, as we use baby sign at home. The food is incredible and I am often told that my daughter enjoyed 3 bowls of it at lunchtime. The staff smile and appear genuinely happy to be at work. Everyone knows each other and you can hear that from the chatter between everyone, even the chef. Tina the director is phenomenal. I feel so lucky that we started at Apple Blossoms after she took over management. I have never felt so respected, heard and cared for as a parent, particularly during vulnerable moments of being a first time parent. I cannot fault Apple Blossoms, and having worked in childcare settings myself, that is saying something. We adore you AB and thank you so much for looking after and loving our most precious possession. I wonder what amazing things my daughter will do today after drop off - perhaps feed the chooks or swing on the flying trapeze?"
