Our goal is to assess how their eyes and brain process visual information in order to give them the best possible vision and help them reach their full learning potential.

At Eyecare Kids, we offer a range of comprehensive eye tests and additional services to address any specific vision needs your child may have. In addition to the initial comprehensive eye test, we also conduct a behavioral assessment to closely examine their eye focusing, eye teaming, and eye tracking skills. This assessment also screens for possible vision processing difficulties. For conditions such as convergence insufficiency, we may recommend a review every 6-12 months.

Certain prescriptions and binocular problems may require a cycloplegic refraction. This involves using eye drops to relax the focusing system and objectively determine their prescription. Although the drops may sting for a few seconds, the entire process takes up to 1 hour to dilate, and your child's sight may feel blurry for a few hours afterwards.

For children requiring myopia control monitoring and regular review of their binocular visual skills, regular cycloplegic refractions may be necessary if dynamic retinoscopy results are not stable. Additionally, topography mapping may be included in the Ortho-K program.

If your child requires strabismus and/or amblyopia monitoring, we offer regular reviews of their spectacle prescription, angle of deviations, suppression, and patching regimen. Regular cycloplegic refractions may also be required.
