"A relatively new station with three platforms although platform 3 is used only for freight trains or express trains. As a customer of the station for more than seven years I have even got off platform 3 once due to a network outage. Platform 2 and 3 are on the same physical platform and only accessible to concourse through stairs or an elevator at the west end. Platform 1 connects to the concourse in the same fashion but access is also possible from Sutherland Rd through the small carpark or stairs/ramp. It's also the home of the station master's office and toilet facilities. Note that the latter is locked when the station is unattended. A lone vending machine is also hosted under the stairs to concourse. I must talk about the roof for the main stairs: I don't know which genius came up with the V shape design which is completely useless during a rainy day when there's any wind what's so ever. There are glass panels on the side of stairs but they don't reach all the way to the roof. As a result the stairs are often wet on one side depending on the wind direction and creating a hazard. Thank you very much! There are plenty of all day parking spots. Apart from previously mentioned carpark on Sutherland Rd side, there are parking spots running full length of the station and beyond on The Crescent side. There's also a kiss and go spot enough to park a bus. Before COVID the carparks can be easily filled despite the generous availability. Commuters coming to the station late in the morning often resort to parking in nearby streets. I guess a large number of commuters came from other suburbs attracted by the all day parking. COVID dramatically altered this behaviour and nowadays free parking spots are no longer a premium. The station is generally quiet even during peak hours. Seasoned commuters time their arrival so it's constantly in motion. However, when there's a network outage then one would suddenly find the city bound platform 1 packed as a Sunday market. Of course, that's mostly a pre-COVID thing. Nowadays a network outage of the same magnitude is generally referred to a NBN outage. One thing is still constant: try to avoid trains immediately before and after school: the nearby Cheltenham Girls' can easily pack a few hundred girls onto the platform during those timeslots. I have seen station masters come and go. They all looked after the station so it's always in good condition. They are good people manning a station mostly as a one man/woman army so please be respectful to them. Out of hours you are just accompanied by numerous CCTV cameras. I'm even surprised that I can talk so much about this station. I guess after going through the station for countless times it's embedded as a permanent part of your memory."
"Very small. A station that doesn't make it easier for anyone who has a disability to get from one platform to another. The lifts are only at one end of the station make it hard to walk for someone with a broken foot"
"Bathrooms were locked at 2pm on a Saturday... hope no weekend commuters need to pee"
"This is one of the best stations around. It is new and has been upgraded, a significant improvement on the previous station. It is spacious and there is access from a few different roads. The trains come every 15 minutes on week days to the city. On the weekend it is every 15 minutes to Chatswood and every 30 minutes to the city. However, trains often skip this station if there is an incident on the network or substantial delays. This is one of the best stations in Sydney for parking. The commuter carpark is bigger than most and there is parking on surrounding streets."
"Plenty of parking, the station manager is very friendly and keeps the place immaculate. A real pleasure to commute from here"
