"Big shout out to the girls at Trading in Style whom I recently purchased a gorgeous Gucci bag from. I absolutely love the bag and it was exactly as they presented it on their Instagram story. From purchase to delivery, it was a seamless process and I’m so happy I made the purchase. For me their daily edits and stories are a source of styling inspiration and I truly appreciate all their efforts. Can’t wait to see what they tempt me with next and I wish them well."
"I highly recommend Trading in Style if you want to consign your bags. They're process is straight forward and transparent. Excellent communication and keeps you posted. All the ladies i encountered are helpful and accommodating."
"Could not be happier with my Hermes bag purchase. The bag is in excellent condition, exactly as described. The staff have been very friendly and communication has been easy. Even hand delivered my purchase to my door. What more could I ask for?"
"Be cautious when consigning with TIS. Greeted warmly in store when I dropped my designer sneakers off to be consigned, was given a receipt and told the process takes about a week...shoes weren't displayed or sold for weeks. Once sold, I then I followed up about payment, I was told that payment is made a month after the sale to ensure the buyer doesn't need to return the item? Their T&C stated that accounts is run monthly, not that you will be paid a month after the sale - extremely misleading. I followed up, stated the ACCC that states that a business is not to hide information from the buyer/seller that would cause them to not go through with an agreement which is exactly what happened here. Staff confirmed that they would bring my payment date forward to 20/3 - gets to Thursday, 3 days after the 20th and I followed up to be told to keep a look out today in my account...gets to 27/3 and I follow up again and all of a sudden receive an automated email stating that I would be paid today and please allow for 3-5 business days. I asked when payment was made as I was told a week prior...then they confirmed that payment was only just made after making an initial promise of a week prior. I sent emails with the initial emails, my frustrations - no reply now i've been paid - like i've been thrown into the bin and they're done with me. I'm sorry but for a business that provides a service, being on the seller end of the consignment has been nothing but unprofessional and misleading. No apology, lack of empathy, would not recommend consigning here."
"Beware of second hand, mouldy clothing! I love buying sustainable fashion and have bought a number of items from Trading in Style, but am so disappointed with this purchase. My beautiful Camilla and Marc jacket is growing mould on it. Note that I have never washed the jacket and have never had mould on any of my clothing before. We have also been in lockdown so I have hardly worn it. I contacted the boutique who are unwilling to offer any assistance stating that, because I didn't notice the mould within the first week of purchase, there is nothing they can do to assist me. The boutique would not accept that the mould is as a result of unsanitary conditions kept by the previous owner and can take longer than a week to come through on the material. The hard 'no responsibility' position taken by the boutique is not fair for consumers and inconsistent with the Australian Consumer Law. This will require a specialist dry clean and even then, there is no guarantee the jacket will be saved. Buyer beware!"
