"The experience was less than satisfactory for a variety of reasons. My initial appointment was 8 July 2023. I had a follow up appointment booked after providing further documentation in relation to a rental property. That appointment was cancelled shortly before without an adequate explanation as to why. Presumably there was a reason and if conveyed it would have been no issue. I then had a further appointment that did not proceed, a phone call was made to a work mobile number after indicating I would be available on my personal mobile. An indication was then provided via email that my return would be completed shortly. It was completed eight days later. The whole dysfunctional, disjointed process with minimal communication went for just shy of a month. The office was very quick to contact me to request payment for their services. That occurred within half an hour of the return being completed."

"I called in and ask for my tax return to be reviewed prior to me self lodging with ato. They booked me in for an appointment and said it would be $135 for the review. i rushed there after work and was then told they cannot complete a tax return review/ provide paid for advice. They claimed this would be "giving work to the competition" (i take it this meant the ato is their competitor but that doesn't make much sense) and i was then quoted "over $250 for a return and it has to be with thier lodgement system". A waste of time and a real rort. I will never try to use h&r block again and recommend you avoid using them."
