About the Business
Welcome to Cann Park, a unique establishment and tourist attraction located at La Perouse, Australia. Situated on Anzac Parade, 1532R, this park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts, history buffs, and anyone seeking a thrilling experience.
Cann Park is best known for its iconic fenced snake enclosure, where snake and reptile shows have captivated audiences since the early 1900s. Throughout the years, a diverse range of talented individuals have performed these shows, but none are more renowned than John Cann, the legendary 'snake man'. Following in the footsteps of his father, George Cann, who started the tradition in 1919, John continued the weekly snake shows until his retirement in April 2010.
Although John Cann has retired, the tradition lives on as the Hawkesbury Herpetological Society now performs snake shows on weekends. Visitors can witness these fascinating demonstrations and gain a deeper understanding of these incredible creatures.
Aside from the snake enclosure, Cann Park offers breathtaking views of Botany Bay, Congwong Beach, and Port Botany. The tranquil surroundings and panoramic vistas make it an ideal spot for relaxation, picnics, and photography.
To ensure a pleasant visit, a public toilet is conveniently located within the park. Additionally, there is ample parking available around The Loop Road, allowing easy access to Cann Park and its various attractions.
Cann Park is not only a place of natural beauty and thrilling entertainment but also a location steeped in history and culture. As you explore the park, take a moment to reflect on the traditional owners of this land, the Bidjigal and Gadigal Clans, who have occupied this area of the Sydney Coast for generations. Randwick City Council pays tribute to the Elders, both past and present, and acknowledges their ongoing connection to this sacred land.
Come and experience the wonders of Cann Park, where nature, history, and entertainment intertwine to create an unforgettable Australian adventure. Whether you're seeking a close encounter with reptiles, a scenic escape, or a deeper appreciation for the local heritage, Cann Park has something for everyone. Plan your visit today and embark on a journey you won't soon forget.

Reviews
"Beautiful public park straddling the lonely calm pristine beaches of La Perouse. Great for the family although parking can be a real nightmare."
"Always a pleasure to take a walk around Cann Park. The ocean breeze is refreshing and views are spectacular. On Sunday afternoons, there is Snake Man in a fenced area introducing different types of snakes from harmless to deadly poisonous with the spectators and his experience in catching and handling deadly and friendly snakes. The public toilets are clean and there is a seafood restaurant nearby, and a small museum about the history of the area."
"No snake shows the last 2 Sundays. But it is a very pleasant well-grassed area with beautiful water views. Very relaxing."
"Beautiful place, Cape banks walk here is too good( there were many not harmful lizards because of summer) There are toilets near the parking. Plenty parking spaces. Good cafes and restaurants near by."
"Stunning day for a visit, everything was perfect save for a bit of wind. Sea was calm and beautiful clear blue water. Relaxing and crowd was there but not overbearing."
