About the Business
Welcome to Ashfield Park, a spacious and leafy park located in the heart of New South Wales, Inner West Council, Ashfield. As an establishment, park, point of interest, and tourist attraction, we offer a serene and picturesque environment for visitors of all ages.
One of the notable features of Ashfield Park is the Ashfield War Memorial, which was originally unveiled in 1921. This memorial serves as a poignant tribute to the Australians who bravely served and lost their lives in conflicts. It stands as a reminder of their sacrifice and the importance of honoring their memory.
If you're planning an event at our park, we have a simple booking process in place. For both casual hire and sporting grounds, please email us at parks@innerwest.nsw.gov.au to request a booking form. Please note that all sporting ground bookings require a reservation, regardless of the number of attendees.
We kindly ask that you review our terms and conditions before making a booking. In the event of a cancellation, refunds are available if more than seven (7) days' notice is provided, minus a cancellation fee of $50. However, if the cancellation is made within seven (7) days of the event, no refund will be issued. Please also be aware that inclement weather on the day of the booking does not warrant rescheduling or refunding.
For events with fewer than 30 people and the use of marquees or entertainment/amusement devices, a maximum of four (4) hours is allowed, subject to Council approval. Applications for these events must be submitted to Council at least four (4) weeks in advance. Similarly, applications for events with over 250 people or large-scale events in parks and sporting grounds with over 500 people should also be submitted at least four (4) weeks in advance.
If you require the services of a contractor to provide equipment, please ensure you have public liability insurance and submit the necessary documentation. Our online booking system allows you to make a provisional booking request for your preferred event date and upload the required documents.
We value your feedback and strive to improve our services. You can use our online customer service request system to make general enquiries about our parks and provide feedback on your experience.
Ashfield Park is situated in the Inner West, a vibrant and diverse community that celebrates various cultures, ideologies, and experiences. We acknowledge that this land traditionally belonged to the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora nation, and we pay our respects to their elders, past, present, and emerging.
Our office hours are from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) from 8:30 am to 5 pm. We look forward to welcoming you to Ashfield Park, where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and create lasting memories.
Reviews
"An expansive park with plenty to keep kids busy. The only downside is the proximity to busy Parramatta Rd. But away from the road you don’t notice it. There is a large playground, a couple of exercise areas. There are clean toilets, free BBQs and a number of drinking fountains. See if you can find the Mary Poppins statue and work out why it is there. There is war memorial, a Philippines memorial and a language memorial. Look out for the Rainbow Serpent totem."
"Beautiful large quiet space Well kept grass and clean area Lovely overall."
"Went to this park for a morning walk/run. It was nice and the park had beautiful palm trees. It's peaceful and has tranquil setting depending on where you are. Nice to have a greenspace among the busy city of Ashfield. MacDonald's is opposite the road and there's plenty of wildlife such as pigeons, rainbows and galas if you come at the right time. There's a variety of statues and monuments and a nice sized kids play area. At least three clean exercise areas that could do with a bit more. Love this local park, will be coming again."
"Lovely large grassy park with a variety of trees, toilets and a solid shelter containing tables. Impressive memorials and other things of interest. Sports field and exercise equipment. Drinking fountains, including for dogs. Community Garden for those who join."
