"We had a lovely time at Victoria Hotel. It’s a local gem, and you can immediately appreciate why - great food, generous portions, welcoming staff and a cosy vibe. We had Nicole serving us, she was fun and offered suggestions along the way for food and drink options. She even suggested we try a local wine at a vineyard we would visit the following day. As a result, we can recommend the Hanging Rock Vineyards Sparkling Rose too! Great food, huge dessert portions, and decent cocktails."
"Cute country pub with a bistro! Not a restaurant haha. Friendly staff and Fairly diverse menu for such a venue. Only thing that let it down was a pretty poor drinks menu, which is a shame when you consider the wealth of local breweries and wineries. Needs a reno as it's sorely stuck in the 80s but overall it was nice experience and the food hit the spot!"
"Popped in for lunch today. Didn't have a table booked but the girl at the front (apologies for not knowing your name) promptly helped us out with the high table at the front. From her hospitality to the service from Brett and Oliver this place was fantastic. Roaring fireplace to keep us warm definitely helped. Food was magnificent. One of the best chicken schnitzels I've ever had from a Pub. Large, thick, juicy, crispy and cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be back when next in Woodend. Thanks to all the team at the Victoria Hotel who worked lunch on July 2."
"Absolutely loved my gluten free experience here. We each got parmas, one regular, one GF. This was in February 2023 so during the "great chip shortage" the server was super attentive and alert to gluten free needs and actively checked (I didn't need to ask) that the alternative potato side was still gluten free and cooked separately to avoid cross contamination. This is a really big deal if you're coeliac so it was great service. Parma was delicious, thick tender chicken and a crispy coating. I also liked that the tomato sauce wasn't chunky or oniony."
"Food and Service was good. Some opened the bloody toilet door behind us and whole room was full of the smell of urine for a few minutes. What the heck. It felt like we are having our drinks in a public toilet God sake…. Moral of the story is don’t sit close to the toilet door I include a photo of the area."
