Welcome to TJ's Swim School, a family owned and operated swim school located in Kirrawee, in the beautiful Sutherland Shire of Australia. We are more than just a swim school - we are a community-focused institution that values the environment and the future of our children.
At TJ's Swim School, we believe that swimming lessons should be fun, personalized, and professional. Our dedicated team is committed to consistently developing your child's swim education, all year round. We even offer family and multiple class discounts to make swimming accessible for everyone. Come and join the TJ's family today!
We offer a range of classes suitable for different age groups and skill levels. For children aged 6 months to 2 years, we have parent/carer accompanied lessons to help them become familiar with the water. As they grow older, we focus on building their confidence and independence in the water, ensuring they feel comfortable and ready to develop their swimming skills.
But we understand that learning to swim is not just for kids. That's why we also offer adult classes, depending on demand. We want everyone to feel included and supported on their swimming journey, which is why we provide private lessons for individuals or small groups. From toddlers to adults, we have you covered. We even offer pre-squad preparation for those looking to progress to pre-squad or squad levels.
At TJ's Swim School, we prioritize inclusivity. Our highly qualified and dedicated team of Access & Inclusions instructors are here to support individuals in the community who require specialized assistance. We are able to assist self and plan managed NDIS participants, and our facility is purpose-built to ensure ease of access for everyone. Please reach out to us so we can discuss your individual requirements.
Take a moment to meet our professional, motivated, and dedicated team members on our website. They are the heart and soul of TJ's Swim School, and they are passionate about helping your child become confident and skilled swimmers.

In light of the recent easing of restrictions, we want to assure you that we are following the advice of NSW Health and current Public Health Orders. We have implemented guidelines to ensure the safety of our staff, students, and their families. While we encourage face masks and leaving the front doors open for better ventilation, we have limited excess numbers in the school at a time to maintain social distancing measures.

"Enrolling my son at TJ Swim School has been an absolute game-changer for his swimming journey. Since he started attending, I have witnessed an incredible transformation in his skills and confidence in the water. The dedicated instructors at TJ Swim School have taken the time to understand his individual needs and tailor their teaching approach accordingly. Their patient guidance and expert techniques have not only helped him excel at swimming but have also ignited a true passion for it. I am amazed by the progress he has made, thanks to the school's supportive and nurturing environment. TJ Swim School's commitment to fostering both competence and comfort in the water has truly set them apart. I'm immensely grateful for the positive impact they've had on my son's aquatic abilities."
"We have struggled to find a swim school for our oldest daughter in the shire. We were looking for a clean, bright, modern facility with professional and friendly staff. Well, we have found it here. We are so happy and most important our three years old she loves it!!!"
"We were contemplating writing our review, but after our 2-week holiday, it's still eating us up inside, so here's our story. Our 2-year-old has always been boisterous, so we wanted private lessons for him. We ended up enrolling him in group classes because they didn't have any availability for private lessons. After a few months we had cancel the group classes because our toddler refused to leave the house as the lessons caused him much distress. On our call to cancel, they offered us private lessons, as they had new openings. Excited about this opportunity, we agreed. TJ's environment was pleasant, their staff were cheerful and welcoming. Also, their facilities were clean and my toddler didn't smell like chlorine after each lesson, which we loved. They charged us upfront $450 as a prepayment to lock in 6 weeks of 30-minute private classes, which was fine with us. This was where EVERYTHING WENT TERRIBLY WRONG! Our lessons were at 3 pm. My son's assigned instructor was often late and if he was there on time, he was busy setting the pool during our paid time. Never once did he make up the time for being late and he ALWAYS pulled my toddler out of the water at 3.30 pm sharp! This meant our son rarely had his full 30 minutes. We excused the first two lessons because our son was enjoying himself. However, we became uneasy with the 3rd and 4th lessons. His swimming instructor allowed him to climb out of the pool several times and run at full speed around it. Not only was this reckless and dangerous, but we also didn't pay $75 a lesson to have him out of the pool! The owner of TJ's was teaching another child in the next lane beside them. He didn't seem to have a problem with how his staff was conducting the lessons, which made us feel uncomfortable with raising our concerns. The 4th lesson was the last straw. Our son was approximately in the water for only 15 minutes when his instructor pulled him out of the water. We basically sat down to watch, then got up to dry our son. We have never felt so disrespected by a place we were supposed to trust! We cancelled the private classes, but they declined to refund the two remaining classes we've already paid for. So, we wrote to TJ's owners, outlining our disappointment and anger with our experience. We also urged them to check their video recordings of the lessons for their investigation into our matter. They bluntly replied they had the right to keep our money but would refund $150 for 2 weeks in a show of 'good faith'. We were beside ourselves because they should've been grateful that we didn't ask for the full $450 back, as the private classes were rubbish. The owner also pushed the responsibility on us for not addressing the matter earlier with him so he could fix it. Fair point, but as mentioned earlier, he was there right beside them each lesson. Also, we never expected their private lessons to be conducted so unprofessionally that we would have to remind them that the agreed private lessons were for 3O MINUTES IN THE WATER! What incensed us the most wasn't the money. It was how the owners never acknowledged that they would look into our matters. They partially refunded us and never replied again, so basically, they just wanted us out of their hair. We're reasonable people and we weren't looking for them to fire their instructor, we just wanted our concerns validated. It's obvious this instructor needed coaching and feedback. It blows our minds how they've dismissed our serious concerns. They run a swimming school for small children, not a cafe. You would think any feedback from parents would be treated with sensitivity and importance. Nope, it was just about the dollars. We trusted them with our toddler and they let us down, but mostly they let our son down. We'll never recommend this place to anyone!"
"Family owned, boutique feel with the highest standard facilities and teachers. My LO has been here since her first swim class 18+ months ago and progresses so well, albeit at her own pace - classes are small and the approach is individually tailored. This is a very well run, very efficient swim school who put the kids first. Could not recommend more highly. Thank you TJs."
"Both my kids have been going to TJ's for almost 2 years now. All the staff are always warm and friendly, you can feel the family business vibes. My children love swimming here, I was super impressed when we first started and my son who takes a long time to warm up to others immediately took to TJ (jumped straight into his arms in the pool on day 1 - due to his patience and calm nature). Even now both kids have changed classes to Hannah and Breanne they are still happy and love to go every week."
