About the Business
Welcome to Peg Paterson Park, a charming and vibrant establishment located in Rhodes, Sevier Avenue, Australia. As a renowned park and tourist attraction, Peg Paterson Park is part of the City of Canada Bay's commitment to providing high-quality and innovative playgrounds throughout the area.
In 2019, the City of Canada Bay adopted its Let's All Play Strategy, which focuses on creating inclusive play spaces for all residents and visitors. This strategy ensures that Peg Paterson Park and other playgrounds within the City of Canada Bay are designed to cater to a broad range of abilities and needs.
Peg Paterson Park is just one of the many exceptional playgrounds maintained by the City of Canada Bay. With over 45 playgrounds spread across the area, including well-known locations like McIlwaine Reserve, Timbrell Park, and Queen Elizabeth Park, there is no shortage of fun and adventure to be had.
The City of Canada Bay also encourages community involvement through its 'Friends of the Park' program. This initiative aims to foster a sense of community ownership and active participation in the management of selected parks, including Cabarita Park and Livvi's Place. Members of the 'Friends of the Park' program attend regular meetings, visit the parks to identify maintenance issues, and help attract people to these special places.
Cabarita Park, in particular, holds significant historical and cultural importance. With its heritage pavilion, ferry wharf, children's playground, picnic facilities, and stunning views of the Parramatta River, it has become a favorite destination for various activities such as walking, cycling, picnics, and even ceremonies like weddings.
Livvi's Place, Australia's first all abilities playground, is another highlight within the City of Canada Bay. Recognized as the best play space in the country by Parks and Leisure Australia in 2010, Livvi's Place was designed to break down barriers for children with special needs and promote inclusive play for children of all abilities.
Peg Paterson Park, opened in March 2012, is a testament to the ongoing urban renewal program in Rhodes. Named after Peg Paterson, a beloved member of the Rhodes community, this neighborhood playground offers a range of activities for both active and passive recreation.
As part of the City of Canada Bay's commitment to child safety, policies and procedures are in place to protect and advocate for the rights of children and young people. The City also acknowledges and respects the traditional custodians of the land, the Wangal people of the Eora nation.

Reviews
"Lovely park with a huge Chess set"
"A chilled little park. Great place to stop by with the little ones. Equipment are quite safe and seems clean. Gets quite busy in the afternoons."
"Ahh, Peg Paterson, the epitome and peak of Pokemon Go a whole year ago. This woke up the sleepy suburb of Rhodes, and was an excellent place to catch some amazing Pokemon. A year onwards and it's now a simple playground to take the kids to. And at least the grass is green again. Not much sun in this area however as its surrounded by apartments."
"Was great for pokemon go, otherwise a nice place with a minute walk down to see the water. Great views"
"Pokemon Park. Great for levelling up in Pokemon Go. But please don't sit on the play equipment or be noisy"
