"I was left with mixed feelings about Frédéric. The service was good and attentive. That said, we were brought the wrong order and, when the server sensed our confusion, he enquired with the kitchen, and then grabbed all the place and took them to the correct table — there was no apology, or anything, which was kind of odd. The atmosphere is nice. We were there for lunch and the place was filled with beautiful natural light. The washrooms were also nice and very clean. We decided to go for the Express Lunch Menu — Entree and Main for $49 (+ glass of wine $59). I opted for the Swordfish Ceviche. I found the nashi pear overpowering and the taste of the fish wasn’t coming through at all. The seaweed crisp was nice and crunchy. For a main, I chose the Porterhouse, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The whole grain mustard complemented it very nicely. My companion enjoyed the Beef Tartare, whoever, we were very (unpleasantly) surprised by the size of the Barramundi, considering it was a main dish — I don’t even think it was 100g. That said, it was cooked nicely. I also had a glass of rosé, which was very pleasant. Overall, I liked it enough to give it another go. They have a happy hour Monday-Friday 4-6 pm, which offers $3 Oysters, $15 Louis Roederer, $7 House Lager, $12 Spritz, and $10 Wine. I’d be keen on going to that and, maybe, staying for dinner."

"The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the service was top notch! The staff were very friendly ( and humorous ) and met all our needs. The atmosphere was quite nice and overall I had an excellent experience."

"My favourite cuisine is french and Voila, the first one I need to document about would be...of course french! The first ever french restaurant I went to was Jacques Raymond's restaurant in Toorak more than 14 years ago. Loved it and went twice before they closed down (it upset me deeply!). His legacy is now followed through his kids so definitely had to try Frederic@Richmond when it opened. Great food as you would expect from Jacques Raymond family! However, the portion sizes are too small..it’s literally couple of tablespoons. I am a light eater and it hardly filled me up. I have been twice already as I am ok with small sized dishes in a set menu style. I love it and will keep going back for sure!"

"Came for Mother’s Day lunch set menu, and it was perhaps one of the best lunches I’ve had in a while. The flavours were well balanced, portion size wasn’t too small and service was attentive. I am not aware of their normal menu but everything was cooked to perfection, with special shout out to the steak, which was cooked to perfectly medium rare as requested (a rarity these days!). Would love to be back to try some of their normal menu. Highly recommended"

"We had such a beautiful experience at Fred’s bar. The ambience, the staff and the food and cocktails were all on point and we could not fault any of it. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly and it was clear they were passionate about their cocktails and their menu and more than happy to share their knowledge, tips and experiences!
