At Dance Worx Academy, we focus on developing gross motor skills in tune with music appreciation. Our students learn to count music and put steps to beats, as well as train their ability to recall a sequence of simple movement combinations. This lays the foundation for their movements across a variety of dance styles, where they will learn to distinguish the specific techniques for each.

As our students progress, we offer technical exercises for each style and intermediate levels of movement combinations. We believe in honing their skills and paying attention to finer details in steps and choreography. At this level, our students will learn to explore movement in combination with expression, discovering how various sequences can convey particular meanings. They will also develop the ability to interpret movement with music and analyze other performances for interpretation and comment.

For those who develop a further interest and enjoyment in a certain style of dance, we offer 1-on-1 tuition. Whether taught by myself or one of our highly experienced staff members, this personalized instruction aims to expand their knowledge and technique.
