About the Business
Welcome to St Christopher's Catholic Primary School, located in Panania, Australia. Our school is a vibrant and nurturing institution that focuses on growing and developing exceptional, resilient learners.
At St Christopher's, we provide a rigorous and challenging learning environment that encourages creativity and collaboration. Our contemporary learning spaces and experienced teachers ensure that every child has access to engaging and accessible learning experiences. We believe in tapping into students' intrinsic motivation, making them curious and eager to solve problems.
We are proud of our school-wide pedagogy, which combines curriculum expertise with effective teaching practices. As leading education researcher Professor John Hattie would say, collective teacher efficacy is strongly correlated with student achievement. Our dedicated teachers work tirelessly to ensure that our students reach their full potential.
As a Catholic educator, we also provide opportunities for students to develop their faith. We work closely with our parish to expose students to our Catholic identity, instilling in them a sense of spirituality and community.
Actions speak louder than words, and we invite you to explore our website, where you will find photos and videos that showcase the vibrant and engaging learning environment at St Christopher's. We look forward to meeting you and your child soon.
It is important to note that St Christopher's Catholic Primary School is part of a system of over 150 low-fee Catholic schools in the Sydney Archdiocese. Sydney Catholic Schools are thriving communities that ignite a love of Christ through excellent teaching and learning, empowering students to reach their full potential.
Our school has a rich history dating back to 1955 when it first opened its doors to 122 children. Since then, we have replaced our original church-school with modern facilities, and our school has been led by lay principals since 1995.
Our deep connection to the Josephite Sisters is something we take great pride in. We aspire to follow in the footsteps of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, who taught us to never see a need without doing something about it. Our school motto, 'Caritas', meaning love and service, reflects our commitment to living by these values.
Our vision is to be global leaders in learning and innovation, loving like Christ. We strive to inspire our students, following the example of Jesus, and empower them with the knowledge and skills they need to live purposeful, meaningful lives.
At the core of who we are and what we do are our principles. We value our community, fostering a sense of welcome and acceptance. The link between our school and the parish is particularly strong, and we actively involve the wider community in our day-to-day activities. We warmly welcome contributions from parents, grandparents, and other community members.
Furthermore, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting those in need. Our school is directly involved in various charitable initiatives, and our families are keen to work in partnership with these organizations. The Sacramental program, led by the parish Sacramental team, is strongly supported by our school staff.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our schools and offices now stand and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Thank you for considering St Christopher's Catholic Primary School. We invite you to join our thriving community and experience the exceptional education we provide.
