About the Business
Welcome to St Mary's Catholic Primary School, located in the charming suburb of Georges Hall, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we take pride in being a leading primary school that empowers our students to strive for their best.
At St Mary's, we have a team of dedicated and competent teachers and staff who instill confidence in our students, enabling them to meet the high expectations they set for themselves. Our rich and personalized curriculum, combined with our welcoming and supportive Catholic community, provides our students with every opportunity to make a positive difference in the world.
We are proud to be a part of the dynamic Parish of St Mary, Queen of Heaven, Georges Hall, and our leadership is shared with our esteemed Pastor, Father Laurence. Working in partnership with families, we aim to develop the faith of our children and help them achieve their full potential. Our policies, practices, and expansive nature-filled playground spaces actively contribute to the school community and make a positive difference in our world.
As the principal of St Mary's Catholic Primary School, I invite you to come and visit our school to witness the wonderful opportunities we offer. Our school is built on a rich heritage and legacy, established by our early pioneers. Opening its doors in January 1979, our school has grown from 99 students and has been guided by inspirational figures such as Sister Edwardine O'Connell and Mr Kevin 'Chevy' Spencer, who have played pivotal roles in its development.
We also celebrate the community-mindedness of Mrs Elaine Donoghue, our first school secretary. These pioneers have instilled in us values of persistence, integrity, and belonging, forming the basis of our deep community spirit.
At St Mary's, we are proud to be part of the Sydney Catholic Schools system, which comprises over 150 low-fee Catholic schools in the Sydney Archdiocese. Our school community thrives on igniting a love of Christ through excellent teaching and learning, empowering our students to reach their full potential.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands, honoring the Elders past and present.
Join us at St Mary's Catholic Primary School to be a part of a strong, loving, and caring family united in faith. Together, we are learners today and leaders tomorrow.

"Amazing school. Mrs Palmer succeeds in creating a community atmosphere with fairness and equality. Accedemically, with one of my children requiring a little extra help with reading a reading program was introduced to him and in a short few months he is back to were he needs to be. So far I cannot fault this school"
"Children are given no freedom of thought. Constantly yelled at and chastised. Group punishments mean student who follow and listen are included when other students are made to stay in during lunch time. It's a primary school, half of schooling is socialising. Let them be children."
"This school isn't the "best school in Sydney" honestly, the canteen orders are always wrong, teachers don't know what their doing, messed up sport times and everything, they are trying so hard to renovate things and add new stuff instead of fixing current problems. There is always also a giant metal dumpster right next to the footy field near the gate or a giant pile of wood chips"
"Had child at this school for 4 years with many issues. As another review has stated this school is very Lebanese centred. The children who do the right thing seem to go unnoticed while the children who continually do the wrong thing are rewarded for doing basic things. This is not right. The school is too crowded and not built for the amount of students here. Need to work on positive culture more amongst staff. It is not right for children to be yelled at daily."
"This school is full of some of the most nasty, disgusting and abhorrent children society has to offer. There is a primary Lebanese demographic, and children who are not of Lebanese ethnicity are excluded and in most cases, bullied and abused. To top off this 'holy community' of demon children, the teachers are completely apathetic and more often than not take the easy route of punishing a bullied child for retaliating while letting the abuser off scot free. From what I can see the school is trying its hardest to maintain a facade of being a kind and caring community, but it won't take more than a day of being there to see the school's horrific true colours."
