"Woolworths at Wheelers Hill Review update 26/8/2023 I have an urge for roast chicken from Woolworths. It is generally moist and well seasoned. The stuffing is tasty. It does not disappoint. This storeserves mainly local residents, always clean and brightly lit. Unfortunately, the shopping centre where Woolworths is locate, is rather tired looking and never busy. Visit update 23/6/2021 There are so many varieties of "boutique" pies from Herbert Adams. It must be my lucky day. ________________________________ Visited on 5/6/2021 The Woolworths is within the Wheelers Hill Shopping Centre, which has an open air car park. The shopping centre is not big, and the foot traffic is low. It was a very popular supermarket a couple of decades ago when there were any competition nearby. Time has changed, and it is more for the local residents, including those from the Weary Dunlop Retireme t Village. This local supermarket is not much different from all the other Woolworths, has all the things I need. I once bought my phone accessories including memory card and USB, computer stationary here. Gone are the days I came for markdown roast chickens, because I have not been successful in finding them. These days I like to check out the specials on pies, ice cream, Asian Yum Cha items, and last but not least price reduced chicken drumsticks."
"The bakery in this branch is the best I've been. The staff is very willing to oblige and they are always so polite & smiling."
"Management has changed and many of the long term staff have moved on. The staff used to be friendly but these days not so much. All checkouts used to be open. Now you're lucky if you have 1 open. Staff need more training in packing bags. They never use the freezer bag I provide, I have to tell them to put cold items in freezer bag."
"The new updated store is very pleasant, never a problem getting around. The staff are always nice. I dislike now that so many of the products you once had have disappeared and the range not as extensive. Your focus is also now on self serve, somewhere I choose not to go often as I feel this has caused staff to lose their jobs. When doing a large shop there is usually only one register open. Things have certainly changed from the days when there were three or four check outs open. A sign of the changing times, which is very sad."
"Proper 1970s feel to this place. It looks like many of the shops have never had a refurb. Like the Newsagent for example. It’s a sleepy place with Woolworths the anchor tenant. Bakers delight, Bottle O and National Pharmacies also in residence. Paul’s Patisserie has good food, cakes and coffee. Needs a makeover."
