"I frequently visit the Prince Alfred Park Public Pool and am always pleasantly surprised by its amenities and convenience. It's a great spot to cool off during the hot days as it's located near Central Station. It's outdoors, so you can soak up the sun in this inner city oasis. It's become a popular location for families with kids, and people looking for a good workout with basketball and tennis courts available. No need to worry about sand and surf here, just good old-fashioned fun! And when the weather's nice, you'll likely find hordes of people flocking here. All-in-all a great spot to spend a few hours cooling off, playing or simply soaking up the sun. Highly recommend!"
"Nicely located pool with a short walk from central station. The staff are nice. It does become crowded some time."
"A friend encouraged me to visit this pool and said it was one of the best in the city, and I’m glad I listened to his rec. Excellent pool for lap swimming (or for lounging about on a sunny day). The water temp is perfect, the pool is very clean, and the other swimmers are respectful. The staff are all very friendly and eager to help. A few things set this pool apart: it’s outdoors and heated to the perfect temp (not too hot or cold), it’s 50 meters, it’s easily accessible via public transportation, and it’s surprisingly quiet for most of the day (outside of early morning and lunchtime, at which times it’s apparently busier). I’ve been swimming here pretty regularly in either the mid morning or afternoon, and it’s rare that I even have to share a lane. Yesterday, I actually had the ENTIRE pool to myself for most of my swim! One thing to note—unlike what another reviewer stated, the lockers are NOT free. I believe they cost $2. Most swimmers leave their bags on the bench in front of the pool, which seems pretty safe. Excellent pool and one of the best I’ve visited during my travels. Highly recommend!"
"Really impressed with this pool. Firstly it was a very clean facility, wether that’s because it has just reopened after Covid lockdown or this is always the case remains to be seen but my experience was a good one. The water was relatively warm as it is a heated pool, I know sometimes they are ‘heated’ but still feel cold, this pool was a comfortable temperature. The staff were polite. There are seats available with shade."
"Friendly staff and an awesome location right next to Central and just outside the CBD with free lockers and hot showers. There’s plenty of umbrellas for shade and an expansive grassy area to relax poolside. It’s an easy walk from Central or Redfern Station. 50m pool split across 9 lanes with the standard slow, medium and fast lane options. There is also squad training on offer as well as learn to swim classes. The pool can be split with a divider to be 25m, and lanes can be booked in the 25 or 50m lengths for events and parties. As at 2021, it’s $6.90 for an adult entry, which is good value considering the location."
