About the Business
Welcome to the webpage of the Australian Council of Deans of Education (ACDE)! Located in Kingswood, Second Avenue, our institution is a prominent establishment and point of interest in Australia's education landscape. As the peak body representing all Australian universities and several private colleges offering initial teacher education degrees, ACDE plays a vital role in shaping the future of education in our country.
At ACDE, our mission is to ensure that Australia produces teacher graduates of the highest quality, fosters a strong teaching profession, and cultivates an inclusive and innovative education system that enhances learning and teaching. We believe that there are numerous paths to becoming a teacher, and we invite you to explore the various ways you can embark on the journey of a lifetime with us.
In October 2023, we proudly elected Professor Simone White from RMIT as Vice President of ACDE, joining President Professor Michele Simons from Western Sydney University and Secretary/Treasurer Professor Barney Dalgarno from the University of Canberra, both serving their second term of office. This esteemed leadership team is committed to driving positive change in education and advancing the goals of ACDE.
One of the ways we celebrate and acknowledge outstanding contributions to education is through our Awards of Excellence and Impact in Education. These awards recognize individuals or teams who have demonstrated initiative, innovation, personal success, research, or the building of positive collaborative partnerships within the education sector. To ensure inclusivity, we have expanded our guidelines to allow for nominations from anyone operating within the education sector. Each year, up to three deserving recipients will be announced at the ACDE Conference, which will take place on Friday, 20 October 2023.
Additionally, we are excited to announce a webinar series by The Community of Associate Deans Research in Education Network (cADRE). Our second webinar, titled "Tendering and Philanthropic Funding," promises to provide valuable insights into securing funding for educational initiatives. We encourage you to join us and expand your knowledge in this area.
