Auditing & Assurance Standards Board 530 Collins Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000
About the Business
Welcome to the webpage for the Auditing & Assurance Standards Board (AUASB). Located in Melbourne, specifically on Collins Street at 530, our institution is a prominent establishment and point of interest for individuals and organizations interested in auditing and assurance standards in Australia.
We are dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and high-quality practices in auditing and assurance engagements. As part of our commitment to staying up-to-date with global standards, we have released a Consultation Paper seeking public comment on the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board's (IAASB) Exposure Draft on Proposed ISSA 5000 General Requirements for Sustainability Assurance Engagements (Proposed ISSA 5000). We believe that public input is crucial in shaping the future of sustainability assurance engagements in Australia.
In addition, we have recently shared the IAASB's Frequently Asked Questions, which provide valuable insights into ISSA 5000. We are also actively engaged in the revision process of ISA 570 (Revised), Going Concern, and have submitted our feedback to the IAASB. While we support the proposed revisions to strengthen the auditor's evaluation of management's assessment and enhance transparency in the auditor's report, we have identified certain matters that we believe require further consideration by the IAASB.
We are proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Jenny Yang, a Senior Lecturer at UNSW Business School, as an AUASB Scholar, starting from July 1, 2023. Dr. Yang's expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of advancing auditing and assurance standards in Australia.
For those interested in attending our upcoming AUASB Meeting 137, to be held on August 23, 2023, we have made the Public Agenda and Papers available. Please note that public gallery attendance will be via videoconference only, and registration is required for those wishing to join the public sessions.
We invite you to explore our website and access various support materials related to sustainability and other extended external reporting (EER) assurance, audit quality, technology, quality management standards, and not-for-profit organizations. These resources are designed to assist professionals and stakeholders in understanding and implementing best practices in their respective fields.
Thank you for visiting the AUASB webpage, and we look forward to your engagement and participation in shaping the future of auditing and assurance standards in Australia.
