About the Business
Welcome to John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, located in the beautiful Bonnyrigg Heights area of New South Wales, Australia. Our school is not just an educational institution, but a faith-centered community where Catholic values and strong relationships between students, teachers, and parents are nurtured.
At John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, we believe in providing a holistic approach to education. Our enthusiastic and expert teachers are dedicated to delivering strong learning growth to ensure that all children achieve their full potential. We understand that each child is unique, and our team of classroom and specialist teachers have a deep knowledge and understanding of every student in the school. They design learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate for all, regardless of their stage of learning.
We take pride in offering extensive co-curricular opportunities to our students. Coupled with our contemporary learning spaces and open areas, these opportunities allow children to thrive, socialize, and discover their passions. Whether it's sports, art, music (including a band), drama, or immersing themselves in the foundations of their Catholic faith, our students have the chance to explore and excel in various areas of interest.
Learning at John the Baptist Catholic Primary School is engaging, exciting, and, most importantly, fun! Our students are exposed to different styles of learning that encourage creative and critical thinking. We are a Newman accredited school, and we provide a wide variety of enrichment opportunities to challenge students and extend their thinking.
Our school community is committed to planning, implementing, and maintaining a safe, supportive, and protective environment that promotes student wellbeing, safety, and pastoral care. We believe in nurturing each child to succeed in all aspects of learning, and our symbol of the rainbow serves as a constant reminder of the joy and hope of the risen Christ.
Since our establishment in 1989, John the Baptist Catholic Primary School has grown significantly to meet the needs of the Bonnyrigg community. Originally a two-stream school, we expanded to become a four-stream school in 2000. Our school motto, 'Together we proclaim Jesus,' reflects our commitment to bringing knowledge of Jesus and his teachings to each child. We work in close partnership with our local parish, John the Baptist Bonnyrigg, to promote unity, mission, and engagement.
In addition to our academic curriculum, we also offer sacramental programs for First Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and Confirmation. These programs are run by a parish core team, with support from our Religious Education coordinator and family educator.
We invite you to join our thriving Catholic community at John the Baptist Catholic Primary School. Our school is part of the Sydney Catholic Schools system, which comprises over 150 low-fee Catholic schools in the Sydney Archdiocese. We are dedicated to igniting a love for Christ through excellent teaching and learning, empowering our students to reach their full potential.
If you would like to learn more about our school, please watch "The School Report | Episode 1 | Transition to Kindergarten" on our website. We also acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which our schools and offices now stand.
We look forward to meeting you and your child soon.
