"We were celebrating my partner’s birthday with our fussy eight year old and we all enjoyed our French dinner before seeing a show. Our eight year old had an omelette and fries which she ate a lot, considering she mostly a dessert eater. My partner the French onion soup which he said was excellent and the fish of the day. I had the crepes and pepper steak. I had the lemon tart and was really nice way to end my meal. The food was very enjoyable. The desserts were lovely too, really nice choices. We had the Belgian beers which were great to clear our palate. We also liked the service from the staff, being available without hovering. Also helpful in getting an eight year old to decide. The atmosphere was probably more designed for couples but we felt inviting and grateful after a busy day in the city. We had space to chat about our day unwind, it was relaxing and romantic evening. When selecting the restaurant we were concerned around some of the negative reviews, but we thought just give it a go. We weren’t disappointed. I suppose some people are just to unkind in their reviews else have unreasonable expectations, they only disappointing themselves. We definitely be back when in Sydney as was lovely restaurant to find."
"Great place to eat for French cuisines. I really enjoyed the pate and the lamb cutlets. Highly recommend that you book instead of doing walk ins."
"I confess that I've had my eyes on the restaurant for some time. Established in 1967, this restaurant would have to be one of Sydney's longest running businesses. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are helpful and friendly and the food is deliciously authentic French cuisine. We found the experience of dining at La Guillotine to be absolutely delightful and we look forward to returning again soon. Many Thanks."
"We had a birthday dinner at La Guillotine, and it was a great experience of French cuisine. Myself has never had any French cuisine before, and I must say that I was very impressed. We had French Onion Soup as a starter, and that soup was full of flavor. Then I’ve decided to try the snails. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of the texture but the seasoning was amazing! Now comes the mains, the dock was well cooked, juicy and tender, with cherry sauce. My partner had the slow cooked beef which it just melts away. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits Sydney."
"The staff were amazing! They are so nice and provide us great details to order food that matches our expectations! The food is very good tasting of course, and the restaurant is very clean. Be sure to make a reservation with them as they are quite busy. My new favourite french restaurant!"
