"I would like to share my experience dealing with the management and staff at Hilltop Kids Long Day Care Centre. I enrolled my daughter in the centre in January 2023 and she attended for approximately a month before I withdrew her from the service. My experience interacting with the staff in this short time involved dismissiveness of my concerns when supporting my daughter’s transition into the new environment. Additionally, they displayed patronising and inconsistent communication and feedback regarding my daughter. I also experienced the management to be inflexible, particularly lacking in an ability to work collaboratively with me in a genuine way, in relation to my daughter’s specific needs. In my opinion, they appeared to be focused mainly on portraying an image of their centre as exceeding all the ACECQA standards, yet I experienced a lack of genuine kindness and warmth towards my daughter and her needs. They consistently made her struggle with transitioning into the centre a problem. I felt judged by the staff regarding my parenting approach and wasn’t listened to when I expressed what I felt was the right approach for my daughter. As difficult as this experience has been for myself and my family, I can imagine that this kind of inflexible approach by educators in a childcare setting, could impact a variety of children who may have additional needs. For example, neurodivergent children, children with behavioural challenges or children who have experienced trauma. Not all children experience the world the same, some have a much harder time. When working with children it is vital as an educator to focus on the specific individual needs of each child and work reflexively with parents and children to support the wellbeing of the individual child. In my experience this was severely lacking at Hilltop Kids Long Day Care Centre."

"Hilltop is lovely place which provides a warm and caring environment for our children. All the staff and the management are kind, communicative and dedicated to creating a safe, happy and enriching environment for the children. The food is good quality and there's plenty of natural outdoor space for the kids to play. Our kids love going to this daycare"

"This centre has felt like a family, and Angelina even calls Pat Grandma at home when she is referring to her, which shows how comfortable she has felt during her time at Hilltop. The centre has helped Angelina grow, develop her social skills and even start trying new foods, which is great given how fussy she is. The family feel, the home cooked meals, the experienced staff and above standard cleanliness of the school, is what makes Hilltop a great centre, and we are glad Angelina had a chance to experience it."
