Sanders Park Julian Street, Willoughby, New South Wales 2068
About the Business
Welcome to Sanders Park, a beautiful establishment located in Willoughby, Australia. Spanning across an area of 3,231m², this park is a point of interest and a popular tourist attraction. Named after Edward Lloyd Sanders, a prominent Member of Parliament for Willoughby from 1927 to 1943, this park holds historical significance and offers a serene escape from the bustling city.
The land for Sanders Park was acquired from William Wilson and John Hunter in 1929, and it was developed into a local park and playground. You can access the park from Julian Street or from the small carpark between Borlaise Street and the southeast corner of the park. As you stroll through the park, you'll notice a wide concrete path that winds through the center, lined by five beautiful Ornamental Pear trees. These trees provide vibrant autumn foliage colors and blossoms in the spring.
Sanders Park offers various amenities for visitors to enjoy. The playground features swings, a climbing net, a climbing wall, climbing bars, spinners, slides, and even a trike track. There is also an open grassy area perfect for ball games, running around, and picnics. The playground is shaded by established trees, creating a comfortable and enjoyable space for children and families.
In addition to the playground, Sanders Park serves as a pedestrian link between Julian Street, Borlaise Street, and Gorman Street. Julian Street is even recognized as a suggested cycling street in walking and cycling guides, making it an ideal location for outdoor activities. Conveniently, bus stops are located nearby at the corner of Frenchs and Willoughby Roads, as well as near the corner of Julian Street and Willoughby Road.
As you visit Sanders Park, we invite you to take a moment to appreciate and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land, the Gamaragal people. We pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present.
Come and experience the tranquility and beauty of Sanders Park. Bring your family, friends, and loved ones to enjoy a day of relaxation, play, and connection with nature. We look forward to welcoming you to this wonderful park in Willoughby, Australia.

Reviews
"It's a nice park but there is no shelter so if it's a sunny/hot day avoid it. It seems a bit 1985 to be having playgrounds with no shade cloth so if they could improve just this one thing it would get an extra star."
"We always have great time Nice green area for kids to run around"
"A lovely park, small but big enough to kick a ball in. Great swings, lots of green grass to lay on or there are a few picnic tables."
"Great playground for kids of all ages. Swings, slides, climbing, flying fox, sandpit and even two resident Bush turkeys. And for the grownups there's a BBQ"
"Great little park with a well manicured garden that provides plenty of shade. There's a variety of play equipment for the kids and a couple of tables and benches to eat food on. The main downsides are the limited size, lack of parking and lack of public toilets that feature at other nearby parks."
