About the Business
Welcome to Artarmon Reserve Playground, a captivating institution located in Artarmon, Australia. Situated at Burra Road, this establishment is a point of interest that offers an array of exciting activities and amenities for visitors of all ages.
Spanning over an expansive area of 10.02 hectares, Artarmon Reserve Playground encompasses a diverse range of spaces, including a bushland reserve, a playground, and a sportsground. The reserve itself holds significant historical value, as it is named after Ardthelmon Castle, the Irish home of William Gore. Gore, who played a prominent role in the Rum Rebellion of 1808 as Provost-Marshal under Governor Bligh, was granted 150 acres of land in 1810. Today, only 19 acres of this land remain, dedicated as a public reserve in 1869 under the care of Willoughby Council.
Access to the reserve is convenient, with carparks accessible from Burra Road. For those who prefer to explore on foot or by bicycle, the Artarmon Link Path (Cordia Way) provides a wide and gently undulating route from Shepherd Road to the entrance of Artarmon Reserve. This path seamlessly connects to the Naremburn cycleway, leading to Bicentennial Park. Additional entrances to the reserve can be found on Elizabeth Street and Artarmon Road.
The highlight of Artarmon Reserve Playground is undoubtedly the vibrant and engaging playground area. Children will be thrilled by the flying fox, large embankment slides, spinner, climbing structures, sandpit, trampolines, and swings, including a basket swing. Picnic shelters are available for families to enjoy a relaxing meal, while an accessible bubbler ensures that everyone stays hydrated. The combination of natural and built shade provides a comfortable environment for all visitors.
Conveniently located just 250 meters from Artarmon Station, the park entrance offers easy access for those using public transportation. Additionally, a taxi stand is only 120 meters away, ensuring hassle-free transportation options.
Please note that while the oval within Artarmon Reserve is an integral part of the institution, surrounding bushland, the children's play area, and barbecue areas are prohibited. The oval is also unavailable as an off-leash area when being used for sports activities.
Willoughby City Council would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the Gamaragal people, the Traditional Owners of the land on which Artarmon Reserve Playground is situated. We honor their Elders, both past and present.
As Christmas approaches, the enchantment in the air is palpable. Join us for our annual bush Christmas party, where you can meet all the animals and embrace the festive spirit.

Reviews
"Everything that a 5-year old and a 2-year old need. One of the best playgrounds in Sydney indeed"
"The small kids area is not padded, so if your child is still learning how to walk, or crawling, it’s definitely not the best place for them."
"A great new kids' park with flying foxes (one seated), multiple slides, swings, swinging basket, turntable, play equipment, spider web climbing equipment, trampolines, an area covered by shade sails, and multiple cabanas with tables to sit at. This playground has been significantly expanded to incorporate one of the lawns of the neigbouring old decommissioned lawn bowls club. Interestingly, I understand that this was the oldest women's lawn bowls club in Australia. There is also a community garden on the other lawn. The toilets are in the pavilion alongside the neighbouring cricket fields, which is a bit of a walk. Parking at the end of Burra Road is closest, but there's parking alongside the neighbouring oval as well."
"Every council seems to be trying to outdo each other at the moment, and this is no exception. Such a great space, large and with lots of different play equipment. Flying fox with seat is the BEST!!!"
"The flying fox is awesome. Inside the compound, hopefully when the trees grow a bit bigger it'll provide the much needed shade. Large and spacious surrounded by trees (outside the compound). Naturally landscape and easy for prams to get around, although there's a section which is far to steep for the pram to fully get around. No toilets. Needs a cafe. Plenty of parking."
