North Rocks Park Playground 387A North Rocks Road, Carlingford, New South Wales 2118
About the Business
Welcome to North Rocks Park Playground, located at Carlingford, North Rocks Road, 387A in Australia. This establishment is a point of interest and offers a wide range of facilities for all ages.
The City of Parramatta has developed a masterplan for North Rocks Park and John Wearn Reserve, known as the 'North Rocks Park Precinct, Carlingford'. This masterplan includes recommendations for building use, condition and placement, as well as improvements to the surrounding parkland, sports fields, and community facilities. The masterplan was funded by the NSW State Government under the Stronger Communities Fund.
At North Rocks Park Playground, you can enjoy a Safari theme playground, a dog park, a multicourt, fitness equipment, an amphitheatre, a skate park, and new amenities block.
Adjacent to North Rocks Park is John Wearn Reserve, which spans over 2.4 hectares of land. This reserve offers a variety of facilities such as BBQ and picnic areas, circuit bike/walking tracks, an enclosed playground, basketball/netball practice hoops, a covered stage, and the Council operated North Rocks Child Care Centre.
North Rocks Park itself covers 7.4 hectares of land and includes Crown Land reserved for public recreation, as well as community land classified as 'bushland' and 'park'. The park is a well-utilized and valued community asset with multiple elements and community uses. It features a Senior Citizens Centre, North Rocks Tennis Courts, the Don Moore Community Centre, a sportsground, cricket nets, walking paths, and a playground.
The community's feedback and engagement have been crucial in shaping the improvements to North Rocks Park. Around 200 community members and park precinct stakeholders participated in the engagement activities. The community values the park facilities and appreciates its multi-purpose and diverse nature. They would like to see these aspects strengthened in the future.
Similarly, John Wearn Reserve has also received input from the community. Although it may not be as well-known as North Rocks Park, it is used for neighborhood passive recreation by all age groups. The community has expressed a desire to improve facilities for youth and enhance the multi-purpose and diverse nature of the reserve.
The construction of John Wearn Reserve is nearing completion. The contractor is currently focusing on installing park furniture such as custom picnic shelters, BBQs, drinking fountains, and bins. Additionally, planting of trees and groundcover plants has already commenced, with a significant number of new trees and plants being introduced.
Please note that while John Wearn Reserve is almost complete, it is still an active construction site and is not open to the public.
The lighting at North Rocks Park has undergone a major upgrade as part of the North Rocks masterplan. Six new metal LED lighting poles have been installed, allowing for adjustable lighting levels. These lights are operated through a smartphone app and have the capacity to operate at either 50 lux or 100 lux. This upgrade was made possible through funding from the NSW Government's Stronger Communities Fund and the Hills Football Association.
Lastly, City of Parramatta Council would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the Dharug people, the traditional custodians of the land of Parramatta. The council recognizes and extends its respect to the elders, both past and present, of the Dharug nation, as well as other Aboriginal people visiting the site.
We hope you enjoy your visit to North Rocks Park Playground, a vibrant and inclusive space for the whole community to enjoy.

"Love this playground. While it seems a bit old it's got a lot of activities to do with plenty of parking and toilet."
"Great park. Good for all ages. Multiple slides to play on, things to climb and swing on, and a rope pyramid. Kids could spend hours here. There are trees to sit under, barbecue facilities and picnic benches. Toilets and bins are close by and parking is plentiful. The park itself is gated."
"Great playground, one of the few still with monkey bars. 2 big slides and a smaller one, a decent climbing net thing. Toilet was clean and had toilet paper and soap. Playground is decently shaded for a good part of the morning. There's a BBQ and a little bit of grass to sit on, and a couple benches. Playground is enclosed which is super helpful with the littles. All in all, I think it's a great spot."
"Very comfy playground. My kids are like it."
"Bruh the most lit park. Always bustling cause there’s a afterschool care place right next door. If you don’t want to go to the park there a set of trees that you can play with next to the park. Very fun place to bring the kids to chill with and a nice place for them to make new friends. There is more than just a playground as there is a small stream that is fun to pay with as well. Would definitely recommend"
