About the Business
Welcome to Saravanaa Bhavan, the largest South Indian vegetarian restaurant chain in the world. With over 33 outlets in India and 47 across several countries including Australia, we bring the flavors of South India to global taste buds. Located in Wantirna, Boronia Road, our establishment offers world-class vegetarian and vegan South Indian cuisine.
Our journey began in 1981 when Rajagopal opened a small grocery shop on the outskirts of Chennai. This marked the beginning of a remarkable culinary adventure that would eventually establish Saravanaa Bhavan as a global brand. By the 1990s, our restaurants had become a staple in Chennai, and in 2000, we expanded internationally with our first franchise in Dubai. Today, you can find our branches in cities like Paris, Frankfurt, London, New York City, and many more.
At Saravanaa Bhavan, we pride ourselves on offering a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. From traditional South Indian dishes like deep-fried mini idly sautéed in regional spices to biryanis, dosas, and fluffy fried bread served with channa masala, our menu is sure to satisfy your cravings. We also offer a variety of starters, soups, and desserts to complete your dining experience.

Reviews
"The flavours are great and service is insanely quick. Dosas are delicious but I just wish the thalis had a little more depth. There's a lot of gravies/rasam/curries/yoghurt but having literally 10 different liquids on rice wasn't ideal. Would love to have some eggplant, paneer, or a few different textures."
"the place got busy as soon as we entered. it was our first time trying this place and tried the food too surely it didn't disappoint us. trued chole bhature and masala dosa, both were good as it wasnt too oily which was something we liked. would visit this place again. even the service was quick where we got our food within 15 minutes. there was plenty of parking space available in this area which were free."
"First time here and loved the assortment of tasty little dishes in my South Indian thaali. Absolutely finger licking-licious !!! Masala tea was good too and they served sugar separately. Yumm Yumm Yumm !!"
"Ordered pongal and upma as take away. Costs 12$ each. As it was in closed brown bag like Uber didn’t check. Came home and found it was Very small container each. Quantity not worth the 12$ each. Dine in is always nice but please don’t do take away or delivery as you will be disappointed with the quantity you receive. Qty reminds me of McDonald’s muffin. So little."
