"I had always been a supporter of this small winery from, basically, the month it first opened and have always encouraged friends to visit however after a visit today we won't be back. As a group of 7 adults (3 couples and a friend visiting from the uk, not a bus full of people looking for free wine tastings) and our 2 teen children, we wanted to have a couple of quiet glasses of wine and an Easter Sunday catch-up but were quite abruptly and rudely told that they won't accommodate more than 6 people. At first I thought this was a joke and asked, what if we sit at two tables, but the owner became quite angry about that suggestion. We made it clear that we didn't want food only some wine but nope, not allowed. The place was virtually empty, has numerous tables inside and had seating to accommodate 20 to 30 people but not a single group of 7 adults wanting a quiet catch-up at a nice venue. It's a really disappointing and quite bizarre way to treat customers. I guess the sign at the door making it clear that there are now numerous petty rules about what can't be done at the venue should have been a warning that this place has changed from being welcoming and friendly. If they want to turn away business, that is entirely their prerogative, but all of our group were offended by how rudely and angrily we were spoken to, totally unjustified and actually quite sad to see as the owner seemed very stressed by our presence. We will quite happily take our patronage (and the few hundred dollars of wine taken home) elsewhere, that includes the hundreds that we collectively spend at Brumfield during the small winery festivals. (We drove 2 minutes along the road to Whispering Hills instead and they were happy to accommodate us and couldn't have been more welcoming). Perhaps the numerous deposits of dog excrement in the car park when I got out my car should have acted as a warning. Edit in response to owner: I have no issue being told that you are busy or are fully booked, I understand you run a small business and large numbers can be overwhelming but what I do have issues with is being spoken to rudely. We were planning on tasting and buying wine, what else would we be there for? A polite "sorry guys, we've got bookings coming in so we can't fit you in today but hopefully see you again another time" would have been far better than being told to go elsewhere because you don't want us there. I'm not trying to ruin your business, I think your customer service will, though, which is a shame because you used to be really friendly."
"This place ticked all our boxes! The “snacks” they provide are way more than snacks! They are a selection of beautiful gourmet food, that was so yummy! The beer and sparkling was lovely too. I would totally come back here in a heart beat. Thank you"
"Great winery no BS, no fancy set up but real people that do enjoy making wine with love to share. Great wines made using natural techniques. I recommend the Traminer!! Hard to get in Australia."
"Had a lovely Shiraz at Brumfield today, and although they're not a restaurant the menu has some good options. We shared the hummus with sourdough as well as a lamb lunch special and both were delicious. Very generous portions too. Front of house staff Benny was very attentive, walking us to and from our car to make sure we didn't get lost. Definitely recommend if you like a laid back atmosphere"
"Greeted by the lovely resident dog Benny, (drive slowly through the car park, he does move out the way like most farm dogs but likes to follow the car), followed by the lovely owner who talked us through a wine tasting. We came with our kids and were told not to hesitate to bring our well behaved dog with next time! The wines are very good and the cider is delicious. Food is good, great for a quick bite or light lunch. True farm style place with open grass area but also has indoor seating and undercover outdoor seating. We happened to stumble across this place after finishing some berry picking near by and weren’t disappointed. We didn’t have a booking."
