About the Business
Welcome to Sabari Saravanaa Bavan, a unique establishment located in Carrum Downs, Australia. As a point of interest and a renowned restaurant, we offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience that combines the best of two cuisines - Srilankan and Indian.
There is something truly special about the flavors of Srilankan Kothu and Indian Biriyani. At our restaurant, you can indulge in the irresistible temptation of tender pieces of chicken simmering in aromatic spices, all in one place. Our fusion cuisine takes traditional dishes and elevates them with new flavors and ingredients, while still staying true to their roots.
What sets us apart is our commitment to using locally sourced fresh produce. This ensures that not only do you enjoy delicious food, but also healthy food that you would find in a home-cooked meal. We take pride in creating dishes that are not only flavorful but also nourishing for our customers.
To make your dining experience even more delightful, we offer constant offers and discounts. Stay up to date with our latest promotions by following our Facebook page. You might even get the chance to enjoy our famous Biriyani for just $5 or Kothu for $4 on special days.
At Sabari Saravanaa Bavan, we believe in creating a vibrant and colorful atmosphere for our guests. Come with your friends and witness the explosion of flavors and aromas that our dishes offer. Unlike other Indian restaurants that rely on pre-roasted spice mixes, we use whole and green spices sourced directly. This dedication to quality and authenticity is what sets us apart.
Our founder, who started his culinary journey in 1999, has a rich background in Indian and Maldivian cuisine. After working in prestigious establishments like the Melbourne Racing Club and Peninsula Country Golf Club, he became the Head Chef at Gateway and Monash. Inspired by his love for buffet-style food, he decided to bring the flavors of his hometown to Melbourne, resulting in the creation of Sabari Saravanaa Bavan.
We are proud to offer an extensive A-la-Carte menu throughout the week, as well as a weekend Indian Buffet Menu that has gained popularity for its blend of North and South Indian flavors. Our founder feels humbled and delighted to have brought his hometown flavors to Melbourne.
Visit Sabari Saravanaa Bavan and embark on a culinary journey that combines the best of Srilankan and Indian cuisine. Experience the vibrant colors, bold flavors, and warm hospitality that we have to offer.

"What an amazing find!! You know it's a good one when you see names and food you've not seen in other Indian restaurants(commonly). Good value for money, and really good tasting food!! I'll be back some time soon for the all you can eat (Friday evenings and all day Sat & Sun)!"
"I recently visited Sabari Saravanaa Bavan and tried their weekend special buffet. It was amazing! The chicken curry and fried chicken were especially delicious. They also had a wide variety of tasty dishes to choose from. The chicken curry had rich flavors and spices that made it really tasty. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The restaurant had both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, so there was something for everyone. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. I highly recommend trying their weekend buffet for a satisfying and tasty meal."
"Very enjoyable dosa and goat curry. The tandoori a bit dry for me. Overall very positive experience. Mango lassi was good too."
"Food is tasty, nice Ambience and very spacious. There is buffet option with decent variety of food. We have visited this restaurant couple of times just because we liked the food. Sad to say that we couldn't enjoy it completely because of the service. Plates provided are small and they don't allow customers to use the bowls(one time use plastic) even for sambhar or raita."
"The owner appears to be very nice. Cant say the same about the staff. The vegetarian meals appears to be very tasty. Didn't try non vegetarian. Spacious restaurant and this also has a buffet in the weekends"
