"Had heard good feedback about this place and after attending today it did not disappoint. Greeted warmly upon entering, the food was beautiful and fresh. We were a group of 15 and had the banquet which included seafood at $85 per head worth every cent. Every platter that came out was huge!!! The dips were really good accompanied by crusty bread along with roasted peppers, and fried haloumi. The seafood platter presented beautifully included mussels prawns, rocking, calamri and more. The meat platter was amazing with, chicken, lamb, rissoles etc, a large bowl of salad followed by Greek donuts and baklava. Every bite was sensational. We went home with heaps of left overs. This place has the best Greek food I've ever had!!! Service was friendly and prompt. Will certainly be going back. Highly recommended."
"Great place for an enjoyable time over dinner. Food is very good quality, although the garnishing is a pretty basic. Service is excellent but very chilled, and a great vibe. Not a chaotic, noisy place but instead somewhere that feels intimate for a table of 2 even though there are people around. Menu has excellent variety, from heavy meat dishes to seafood and salads. Prices are average - not cheap but not super expensive.."
"The food is excellent and very authentic with friendly service in a very nice environment. We will definitely be going there again. 2 years later - still coming in for dinner and the quality is still superb."
"My family and I really enjoyed our dining experience here. The food tasted delicious and the service was prompt, friendly and great. The seafood and meat platters are superb and suited us well to enjoy the variety of food on offer. Thankyou."
"After hearing about Ammos from someone on the radio, I thought I'd try it for myself. I remember the location from when it was Theo's (unsure, but i think the owners of Ammos MIGHT be the same people from Theo's). It's a nice, spacious place with two entrances (in summer). If you come in through Station street, you're not entering near the kitchen, and that's where staff will greet you. We were taken to the table right away and given menus and offered waters and given the QR codes to scan etc. The ambiance was nice; they play nice Greek music, and the entrance to the bathrooms even look like the entrance to a little house on one of the islands or something. The one thing I hated were that the chairs were hard and uncomfortable (which can become a problem if it's a lengthy dinner), but I guess this is just nitpicking. We chose off the menu, because no one told us anything on the specials board, and when we asked about the specials, we were told about ONE dish only amongst all of the things on offer. I got the Tarama and pita bread and both were good. There was a lot of Tarama considering the small portion of pita, but it was tasty nonetheless. For mains, I got the Chicken Gyros and that was quite good too. It comes with some pita and dip (so maybe choose something different for entree) and it's meant to come with potatoes. Plural. When the meal came out, there was half a potato, cut into two. That was pitiful, and had I known, I may have ordered a side with the meal, but ... I'll know for next time. Even though that was all quite filling, I wanted to try their Drunken Pear for dessert and that was also great. Overall ... while some things were out of whack proportionally, the food was really good. The service overall was good and some of the staff were really quite friendly. It's family operated (I believe). Parking can be a little tricky (as it's across from a train station), but we went around the block twice and then found a space. Would I come back here again? Yes, I would. It is good for more casual meals, and good to come with either friends or big family dinners. It absolutely scratches an itch if you're craving Greek food."
