"Born a veggie , was wondering if I would find something close to my comfort food from back home in India. I was astounded at the array of stacked veg items for the taking. Delicious cottage cheese delicacies, veg biriyani and mouth watering banana fritters, Vada chutney n the like. Sumptuous n delicious . The service impeccable and the ambience.. superb. Dying to go back again"

"We reached out to this restaurant after seeing their 4.8 stars apparently, would have dropped the plan had we previously looked at the reviews. We had ordered for couple of dishes for our table, after checking with the sever about the portions sizes they did advise that each portion of curry would be sufficient for 3 people. And when the food got dropped off at the table , we all were shocked to see the miniature serves of the curry. We checked with the server again and asked the same question these sizes were too small for the price that they have quoted ,not even sufficient for 1 person. The server then took off to inform their owner / chef who looks after this place. The lack of attention to the table and not acknowledging the table after the feedback was given was very disappointing. The chef never showed up to the table even though he came out attended the another table , not once did he check on us and we had to call out for him again to speak to him about the food directly . The owner was not welcoming and surprisingly was not even ready for a feedback as well as he was already prepared with an automated answer about the concerns we had. He blamed it on the poor server who apparently had started recently and not knowing about the food portions, but instead of taking the feedback he was ready to talk about the increase in food costs and how he was still reasonably priced compared to the other markets. We understood that there was no point in being there so we just took off. Never had any experience like this. Would never recommend this place. The owner needs to understand the market and work accordingly. I’m sure this owner will comeback with another sassy disagreement on the feedback given."

"The food was good, the only thing I disliked about this place is the quantity of food. We understand inflation, but in any good quality and good ambiance restaurant the food and quantity given is sufficient for the price you pay but here our chicken ghee roast had only 5 bite size pieces of chicken. We've been to Indian restaurants and being Indians it's very rare to find places where you are leaving feeling insufficient with the quantity of food served. Now that I'm reading other reviews for kochi Cafe it seems to me that my concerns are valid We walked up to give feedback in a very decent manner but the attitude of the owner was such that any comment was taken with more than just a pinch salt. Very disappointed. Hope to see improvements and feedback being taken in a much more welcoming manner."

"We had dined yesterday here, ordered sambar vada and gobhi 65 as starters. Mains: Ghee Roast , beef curry , porotta and tamarind rice. Just want to say everything was amazing, delicious. Being someone from Kerala all I want to say finally an amazing south Indian restaurant in Melbourne. Felt really satisfied, highly recommended. Will surely visit again and recommend to friends. Nice meeting the owner Ajith, done a good job with the decor simple but elegant"
