"Great restaurant with flavoursome Thai. We had fried silken tofu, the savoury coconut dumplings, honey duck curry and pork ribs curry. All were great, well balanced, there was a decent amount of heat and spice on the dishes. BYO too!"
"Quaint little Thai restaurant in the busy Bay street of Port Melbourne. The vibe felt like a neighbourhood cafe with its white decor and small size. We ordered a couple of their special dishes and a portion of barramundi. The kua Kai is very similar to char kuay teow and overall is okay but expensive. The fish is crispy and comes drenched in this sweet spicy sauce. Lastly the mee Bok which is surprising because initially we thought it would come up as hot food but turns out it came out at room temperature (imagine those dry vermicelli dishes that you order in a Vietnamese restaurant). Food - 7 Service - 8 Vibe - 7 Price - $$"
"Delicious food with unique homely feel. Service is very friendly and unobtrusive. Portions are perfect and well priced. Always a delight."
"Food is absolutely tasty and authentic, we had Pad Cha seafood and Pad Thai. The staffs are exceptionally good service with beautiful smiles."
"Vela Thai tonight. Service was rather unfriendly but the food arrived swiftly. $12 for roti bread seemed excessive to me so we opted for chicken satay at the same price. They were the tiniest skewers I ever did see and the chicken was dry. The vegetables mentioned on the menu for my pad see ew were nowhere to be found but the flavour was still enjoyable albeit the the dish wasn’t very well balanced as a result and the noodles were oily. A service charge was laid to boot (perhaps for use of card but no mention or signage to flag as such and frankly in this day and age that’s kind of ludicrous given no one carries cash). Definitely not worth a return visit in my experience"
