"Very well preserved and restore WW-II destroyer. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and friendly. They patiently answered many questions from the kids and the big kids. You can access most areas of the ship and there's a information about the artefacts on display. To visit the engine room you need to be escorted by a volunteer. They even turned on one of the engine to show us how it works. Highly recommend bidding this museum/ship."
"Beautiful suburb of Melbourne and a beautiful spot to visit. We received great service by the gentlemen on board the HMAS Castlemaine. They were friendly and more than happy to give my young son an abundance of information and a guided tour for parts of the ship explaining the many great things to see. They've done an amazing job restoring this beauty and take a lot of pride in it also, which is wonderful to see. Lots of steps and climbing to get up and down the decks but worth a visit."
"Helpful staff. They'll start the engine for you if you ask. Heaps of memorabilia."
"Great place to take kids to learn about battleships and sailing. Amazing technology."
"This is a great historical museum that has been well maintained by a Maritime Trust of Australia local branch. It was open on the day I attended, ANZAC day, and is well worth the time if you are in the area. Its a World War Two corvette built in Melbourne, 1942. It has been docked at the Gem Pier Williamstown for a long period of time. There are public toilets near by"
