Situated in a freshly constructed warehouse, Kerfuffle Studios provides a flexible and cost-effective multi-disciplinary creative haven. We welcome makers, performers, directors, prop-makers, sculptors, and other daring creatives to experiment with fresh ideas in our space.

Our studio is great for rehearsals and film set up, and we also have dedicated space for prop-making or installation projects. Additionally, we offer an additional workshop equipped with a range of wood and metal working tools, providing everything necessary for your creative endeavors.

But it's not all work at Kerfuffle Studios! We believe in balancing creativity with fun, which is why we have a pool table for some extra enjoyment. We also offer an eclectic selection of retro exercise bikes for your solo or group warm-up sessions.

At Kerfuffle Studios, we understand that flexibility is important. That's why we offer a flexible rental roster on a 24/7 basis, allowing you to work at your own pace and schedule.

Our location is conveniently nestled just a stone's throw from the city, sitting on the Thomastown side of Keon Parade. Darebin is just across the road, providing easy access to nearby amenities. The Keon Parade Park train station is only 300m away, and the M80 freeway is within reach, making it easy for you to commute to and from our studio.

When it comes to lighting, our space benefits from daylight through roof transparent panels, providing a naturally well-lit environment. We also have white LED ceiling flooders and/or LED and conventional theatre lights available for use, depending on your needs.

To ensure that you have all the necessary tools and equipment, we provide 18v Makita power tools, including a drill, impact driver, planer, circular saw, grinder, and blower. We also have all the little bits and bobs that you would find in a workshop, as well as a selection of timber and metal materials for your projects.

Our studio also features a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster, allowing you to take breaks and enjoy a meal or snack. We even have a lunch table where you can gather with other creatives and exchange ideas.

At Kerfuffle Studios, you will be in the capable hands of Selene Dudley-Bateman and Jens Altheimer. Selene is well-known and loved in the Victorian art scene for her dedication to looking after artist needs and administration through Auspicious Arts. Jens, on the other hand, is a freelance theatre maker and contraption builder, touring his family shows throughout Australia and engaging in community art projects. You will see lots of his collection of precious junk and touring shows at Kerfuffle.
