We were impressed by the masters' craftsmanship and the longevity of yakisugi, with examples over 120 years old still looking great today. With the knowledge we gained in Japan, we began experimenting with different burning techniques for yakisugi. After countless hours and meters of timber, we made significant progress. Since 2018, we have been proud to offer Yakisugi Japanese charred cladding.
